Right in front of us, was a man who suspiciously looked a lot like Mark. He kept looking at me, then to Mark.
"So..." I tried to start a conversation, but I didn't know what to say.
Then the man's focus shifted only to Mark.
"Mark Hippolyte. Welcome to Tengoku No Okoku," the man said. "How and why are you here?"
"Wait, how did you know my name?" Mark asked.
"It's quite easy. I'm your father, Xenon,"
"And so we meet yet again another god," I said.
"Oh? Who else have you met?"
"Latona's weird uncle," I sighed.
"And... that is?"
"Clay,"
"Oh. I see what you mean by weird. Now, back to my question. Why are you here?"
"We're on a quest to find a non-existent ring," Mark explained.
"He means the Mienai. That's what we're supposed to find," I explained.
"Oh! I know that ring!" Xenon said proudly.
"Really? Where is it?"
"I have no idea,"
"I'm sorry, what?"
"No one knows where it is, but everyone know what it is," the god explained.
"Isabelle, what do we do now?"
Then yet again, someone appeared near us.
The lady who was standing there had long blonde hair and shiny, silver eyes. Just like me.
"Xenon, you're not thinking straight again. Did you forget that the ring is here?" she sighed.
"It is?" Xenon looked puzzled.
The women held up her hand to reveal a golden ring around her index finger. The ring was glistening in the sunlight.
"Oh! I never introduced myself!" she said, looking right at me. "I am Ivory, goddess of magic, wielder of the Mienai,"
I was at a loss for words now. Not only had Mark just met his dad, but I was finally able to meet my mother. We even tracked down the ring too!
"Isabelle, that's the ring we were supposed to find!" Mark said.
"Ivory, I would like to introduce you to my son, Mark," Xenon was having his own little conversation with my mother. "I don't know the other one though..."
"The other one, has a name, Xenon. And she's my daughter," Ivory said sternly.
"Looks like our parents don't get along too well," I sighed.
As soon as Ivory and Xenon stopped talking, Ivory walked over to me and handed me the Mienai.
"Take good care of this. I understand that you need it for a quest," she smiled.
"Thank you," I smiled back.
I slipped the ring onto my finger. Even though it looked like it would be way to big, it fit my perfectly. But before I could turn back to Ivory, she was gone. Mark and I were alone again. But then I remember that Xenon was still there.
Xenon pulled Mark aside and whispered something in his ear, then disappeared. Mark walked back to me, his face as red as a tomato.
"What was that all about?" I asked.
He just shook his head.
