I explained everything that had happened to Latona. She seemed just as confused as I was.
"You went into my past?" she asked.
"And that's just one part of it..." I sighed.
"And my future..."
"Ya..."
"And you met the gods of time?"
"Ya..."
"Can I come with next time?"
"Wait what? You want to come with?"
"Ya!"
"Sorry, but I have no control over it..."
"That's sad,"
"I'm the daughter of Ivory. She's the goddess of magic, not time,"
"Right..."
Maybe we will take her with this time!
I heard a voice in my head. It sounded like... Algy!
It might not be a bad idea...
And Amser!
But why were they in my head?
"Latona, I'm gonna black out again..." I said.
"Now?"
I nodded as the world went black for the third time.
"Hey!" Amser greeted me. I couldn't tell if this was the past or future.
"Welcome to Jikan No Ryoiki, the Realm of Time. This is the place I call home," Athaiah explained.
"And it looks like your little friend managed to follow you this time. You shouldn't have told her," Algy frowned.
Latona was here?
I turned around and saw Latona.
"Oh, hi," I said.
She smiled back. But she didn't move or talk.
"It would seem she's not completely here," Athaiah said.
"What does that mean," I asked.
She wasn't completely here?
"Only her soul in here. You won't get much of a reaction out of her," she explained.
"That's a bit disturbing,"
"That's how life works, kid,"
"Is she gonna be okay?"
"Most likely,"
"What does that mean?" I yelled.
"She might have a bit of damage done to her mind,"
"Send her back,"
"What?"
"Mother, she wants you to send her back," Amser sighed.
"Now why would I do that?"
"They are our guests, mother. We have to respect their wishes,"
"This is my realm! They are not your guests, you insolent child!"
"I am not a child!" Amser was yelling now.
And her mother was yelling back.
Algy grabbed my arm and told me how to get Latona back to real time. He told me to grab onto her, and he would send us back while Athaiah wasn't looking.
"Thank you, Agly," I said.
He waved to me as we faded out of Jikan No Ryoiki.
Just as she was about to fade from my vision, I saw Athaiah look at me. She was mad. VERY MAD.
Then I woke up back on the hill. Latona had just woken up too.
"What happened?" Latona put her hand on her head. She looked like she had just had the worst migraine ever.
"I think I made a goddess mad at me..." I explained.
"Oh no. Which one?"
"Athaiah..."
"We're in danger,"
"What are you two talking about?" Mark interrupted.
"I made a goddess mad at me,"
"We're dead," Latona sighed.
"I heard someone say dead! What the heck is going on over there?" Sandy yelled from the top of the hill.
"Isabelle mad Athaiah mad!" Latona yelled back.
Silence.
"OF COURSE SHE DID! SHE MAKES EVERYONE MAD!" Sandy yelled.
"So do you!" I yelled at Sandy.
"Shut up!"
"Sorry,"THE NEXT DAY...
We had made it back up the hill. We hadn't found Travis yet though. Latona said she saw him go down the hill, but he wasn't there. Sandy tried to convince her to leave him here, but she refused. So did Mark and I. We sent up camp on the hill.
"Mark, see if the east winds are pushing him around again," Latona said.
"Oh, that's a good idea!" Mark replied.
He sat down, facing east, and closed his eyes. None of us knew how he did it, but he could follow the winds to see if anything is blocking it.
"Anything?" Latona asked. She put her hand on Mark's shoulder.
"I can see one person, but I can't tell if it's Travis," Mark explained.
"Where?"
"About two or three, maybe four, miles east of here,"
"Let's go!" Latona smiled.
She grabbed Mark's arm, and my arm, and dragged us east, not even thinking to wake Sandy up from her nap. I smiled, and did it for her.
"SANDY! WAKE UP! WE'RE LEAVING!" I screamed.
Sandy jumped up and ran after us.
"Get back here!" she yelled.
For a satyr, she could run quite fast.
We ran for hours, not taking a break. We wanted to find Travis.
We ended up at a beach. It was very empty and cold.
Latona stopped running and let go of our arms.
"Travis? You there?" she shouted out into open air.
No response.
"T...Travis?" Latona lowered her voice.
Everything was quiet. Unless you count the kid laughing in the distance.
