Standing at the end of the hallway, was none other than my father. He just stared at me and Latona, not saying a word. I had to say... something to break the silence.
"Surprise," I said, kind of shyly.
My dad dropped the bag that was in his hand and ran to me.
"Where have you been?" he cried.
"Pretty much everywhere," I sighed.
My dad picked his head up and looked at my friends.
"Who are they?"
"Friends,"
"Okay," he smiled. "Why don't you stay the night? You look tired,"
"I can go for a good night's sleep," Mark laughed.
My dad lead us to my bedroom, then took me back downstairs.
"Where exactly did you go to?" he asked.
"You want all the details?" I asked.
He nodded.
"First, we went to California, then Arizona, stayed there for a while, then we went to Maine, New York, back to Maine, then here,"
"Are you going back?"
"Only for the rest of the summer. I'll come back at the end of August for school," I explained.
"Are you gonna do this every summer?"
"Ya. Maybe you could get me a plane ticket next time. You know how much I hate car rides..."
"What about Latona? Is she going too?"
I nodded.
Then I went upstairs to my friends and fell asleep.
