As we got back to the old motel, Sandy rushed over to Ariad and grabbed her arm. She gave her a death glare that made the tension so think you could cut the air with a knife.
"Who are you?" Sandy asked sternly.
"Sandy! Calm down!" I yelled, trying to pry her off of Adria.
"Isabelle stay out of it!"Sandy yelled at me.
"No! I'm the one who brought her here!"
"Why?" Sandy let go of Adria's arm.
"She's supposed to help us. She said my mother sent her,"
Sandy sighed.
"Isabelle, you know that you can't trust everyone. I thought I made that clear!"
I glanced over at Adria. She was holding onto her wrist where Sandy was holding onto her. I didn't care what Sandy thought. I trust Adria.
"I trust her. Maybe you should have some faith in my ability to think for myself," I sighed.
"Well, first of all, I don't even know who she is," Sandy said.
"My name is Adria Harlan, daughter of Rodinia. I'm a Henka Suru, or a shape-shifter," Adria explained.
"You brought a shape-shifter here?" Sandy glared at me.
"Sandy, please calm down!" Latona sighed.
It was easy to tell everyone was starting to get tired of this. Especially Adria. The tension was even thicker now. Instead of using a knife to cut the air, you'd need a full on nuclear laser beam.
"Sandy, I think you need a bit of fresh air..." Mark sighed as he pushed her out of the motel.
"I'm really sorry about her. She's never in much of a good mood..." I explained.
"It's fine. It just felt like she was going to rip my heart out of my chest," Adria laughed.
"Oh man, we all know how that feels!" I said.
There was an awkward silence.
"Alright! Let's get down to business. Where are we supposed to find the Meinai?" I asked.
"I don't know," Adria said.
"Wait what?"
"I was only told the approximate location. I have no idea how to get there,"
"Oh..." I felt disappointed. At first I thought our quest was almost over. Now all we have is a confused Henka-Suru.
"Can you tell us that approximate location?" Latona asked.
Adria nodded and pointed up.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Mark looked at me as if I was supposed to know.
"That represents Tengoku No Okoku," Adria explained.
Once again, that auto-translated in my head to "Kingdom in the Sky".
"What about it?" Mark asked.
"That was the only hint I got. That means it's somewhere up there,"
"But we don't know how to get there..." I sighed.
"No one does..." Latona said.
Then it hit me.
"Hey Mark!" I shouted.
Mark looked over to me. I think he looked a bit worried.
"Please don't hurt me," he said under his breath.
"You know how your dad is the god of air, right?"
"Ya?"
"And we have to go the the Kingdom in the Sky?"
"Ya?"
"Guess who's getting us up there?"
"Oh no..."
I shoved Mark out of the door.
"Time to fly!"
