Oikawa couldn't, wouldn't, stop running. He didn't want to turn back and face him. Didn't want to hear him apologize. He wanted to get away. He knew the relationship wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows, but he didn't expect this. He thought that he loved him. Apparently not. Oikawa loved him with all his heart, and he thought the feelings were returned. Turns out, they weren't, and one persons love for another, isn't enough to carry them both. His legs were hurting and he felt gross -his clothes were sticking to his body-. But he was calm. For once that day, he was completely at peace. No more running. No more crying. No more anything. He didn't have to run away from the problem, he could sit here, on this hill looking over the city, and listen to the passing thunder, watching the lightning, feeling the rain against him. It was nice. It was like nature was washing off his worries, keeping him safe in a blanket of water, lights, and sound. He loved it. In fact, he loved it so much he decided to follow the clouds. Follow the rain, and the thunder, and the lightning, because it truly was the only thing that brought him peace.
He was following the clouds down a street. He felt at peace, still. So at peace, however, he didn't notice a semi-truck barreling its way towards him. He didn't notice the cry's of the random people littering the street.
It could have been prevented, the crash, but it wasn't. The truck hit him at full force, knocking him to the ground, and trampling his body. The people closest swear they heard bones crack, and bones crunch. The people watched as the man smiled, looking up at the sky with such admiration. They watched the life slowly slip away from him, like the water after a storm slowly slips down the sewer drain.

It was on the News the next day. Everybody saw it. His friends. His family. His foes. Everybody. And everybody broke down, even people who had sworn to hate him till their dying day. But nobody was as broken as Iwaizumi Hajime. Who watched the love of his life be carried away on a stretcher, already dead. Nobody felt their heart being ripped out of their chest, like he did. Nobody felt the guilt he did, as he believed he had caused this. He had caused this. If he wouldn't have been so utterly stupid, maybe this wouldn't've happened. Maybe Oikawa would be sitting beside him, watching the News with him. He let the tears fall. He couldn't hold it longer. He had caused this, and now he was getting his punishment. But it could've been something different, he thought, you didn't have to take him away from everybody. He fell to the ground, sobbing. He felt as if he could cry forever. The only sounds of the apartment was his heart wrenching sobs, and the rings from his phone, as numerous people tried to get a hold of him.

He was at the funeral. It was raining, oh how bitter sweet that was. Oikawa's favourite thing -other than aliens- happening when his funeral was in place. He watched as the body in the casket was lowered into the ground. He watched as the workers covered the whole. He watched as people left. Soon enough, everybody left, and it was only him, standing in the rain starting at the grave.
He slowly walked forward, approaching the grave. He reached it and sat down, not caring if his suit got dirty. He read the tombstone, and broke even more.
Etched into the stone, were the words;'I'm sorry Iwa-chan, but I must join the clouds now.'
Apparently, a bystander had heard him say it. They were his last words before he was ripped from the world. And they were directed at Iwaizumi. They seemed simple, but they held so much meaning behind them.

Years later, Iwaizumi was still lonely. Barely living. He still regretted what he did. Still blamed himself. But he still loved Tooru. He wouldn't stop loving him, ever. It's raining again, Iwaizumi noticed. "How funny, it's Tooru's birthday.."Rain was supposed to calm most people. The smell and the sounds being comforting. But to Iwaizumi, it was haunting. It reminded him of all the wrong he had done. It reminded him of that night. But it also reminded him of the goods times he couldn't seem to forget. The good times he had spent with Tooru. It reminded him of Tooru. But maybe, that's why it was there. So he wouldn't forget. So he would always remember.
