The Story

"Oikawa-san!" A voice called as Oikawa entered the team house. He had just got back from shopping. "You know how you grew up in Japan?!" The same voice said enthusiastically. "Uh, ya. What about it?" Oikawa asked, putting down his bags. "Can you tell us a story from then?! Please??" Oikawa walked to the living room, seeing his whole team gathered around the coffee table in the middle. "Uh, sure? What kind of story?" Oikawa replied, sitting down. "Any kind!" Oikawa hummed. Thinking of a story to tell. "Oh ok! I got one!" Oikawas teammates seemed to be paying close attention to Oikawa's every word.

"Let me tell you a story, 'bout a boy and a girl. It kinda short, kinda boring" He started. "But the end is a whirl" -he continued. "They were just sixteen, when the people were mean. So they didn't love themselves.. And now they're gone, headstones on a lawn..." Oikawa said, remembering the memories. The team stared at him with wide eyes.

"And when I was younger, I knew a boy and a boy. Best friends with each other, but always wished they were more.." Oikawa continued talking not meeting his teammates eyes. "'Cause they loved one another, but nerved discovered, 'cause they were to afraid of what they'd say. Moved to different states.." Oikawa's teammates eyes were now filled with pity, who knew he had witnessed all this?

"Oh, and I'm afraid that's just the way the world works. It ain't funny, it ain't pretty, it ain't sweet. And I'm afraid that's just the way the work works.. but I think it could work for you and me! Just wait and see." The memories were taking over Oikawa now. "It's not the end of the story.."

"Now it's onto the sequel, about me and my friend. Both our parents were evil, so we both made a bet. If we worked and we saved, we could both runaway, and we'd have a better life. And I was right.. wonder if he's alright..." Oikawa's teammates were shocked, he was treated like that?!

"Oh, and your afraid that's just the way the world works.." His one of his teammates chimed in. "It ain't funny, it ain't pretty, it ain't sweet.." He said softly. "Oh, and I'm afraid that's just the way the world works.." Oikawa muttered. "But I thought it could've worked for him and me. Just wait and see.. It's not the end of the story.."

"Okay..?" His captain said.

"And the movies always running in my head. All the people, all the lovers, all my friends.. And I hope they get their happy ending, in the end.."

"Oh, and your afraid that's just the way the world works.. It ain't funny, it ain't pretty, it ain't sweet." The libero on his team said. "Oh, and I'm afraid that's just the way the world works.." Oikawa said, again. "But you thought that it could've worked for you and him..?" His captain said, questioningly. "Just wait and see" -Oikawa nodded- "It's not the end of the story..."
