Oikawa and Atsumu were sitting in Atsumu and Sakusa's apartment, Oikawa was staring at the floor, not making any noise, whilst Atsumu waited patiently for him to speak. Oikawa had called Atsumu earlier, and had asked if he could come over, he sounded so upset, that Atsumu couldn't say no. Oikawa looked so broken when he had gotten to the apartment, and Atsumu immediately knew something had happened between him and his lover, Iwaizumi. Atsumu poured his older friend a drink, and led him to the living room, sitting him down and sitting beside him. They had been sitting there for the past 30 minutes in complete silence, the only disturbance was Kiyoomi, who had walked in 20 minutes ago and had had a silent talk with Atsumu about something.

Oikawa, finally calm enough, and done of the silence, spoke up. "We.." Atsumu looked up from his phone. "We.. aren't together... anymore..." Oikawa said slowly, thinking of how to properly put his words. Atsumu just shut off his phone and put it on the centre table. "Oh... is.. is there a reason why?" He asked carefully, being conscious of the fact that his best friend was probably about to break down any second. "He- He just said that.. he didn't love me anymore.., and that he t-thought it'd be b-better if we.. say other peo-people..." Oikawa stumbled over his words, trying his hardest to not break down. Atsumu sighed, hiding his anger for now, knowing his friend needed the comfort and not the anger. "Do-Do ya wanna talk 'bout it..?" He asked softly. It took Oikawa a second to answer, thinking about how to answer. He wanted to talk to someone about it, he just didn't know how to. "...If it makes you feel better, I won't talk..I'll just listen?" Atsumu added. Oikawa just nodded, not trusting his voice.

"I used to be so happy, but without him I feel so low"-he started-" But I watched him as he left, but I can never seem to let him go..." Atsumu continued to look at him, listening intently. "'Cause once open a time he was my everything.." Oikawa stoped, looking at Atsumu to see if he knew what he was talking about. "But it's clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing?" The faux blond asked. Oikawa nodded, but continued nonetheless. "It's very deep inside me, but I feel there's something he should know.." Atsumu hummed, urging him to continue.

"I'll never forget him. He'll always be by my side. From the day that I met him, I knew that I'd love him till the day I die. And I will never want much more, and in my heart I will always be sure, I will never for get him. And he'll always be by my side, till the day I die." Sometime while Oikawa was talking, he had started crying. Atsumu moved across the couch, closing the space between himself and his best friend, wrapping him in a big, comforting, hug. Oikawa put his head on his friends shoulder, sobbing into the clothed skin. "Shh...it's gonna be alrigh'..I promise..." Atsumu continued to whisper comforting things, until he felt his friend go limp in his arms.

It's been a little over a year now, and Oikawa had somewhat moved on. He had followed a career in singing, and now did gigs at bars and other places. Tonight, he was at a bar. There were a line up of singers who were going to sing, and Oikawa was last in line.

His name was called up, and he made his way onto the stage. There were claps throughout the room, from people who had seen him sing here before. Oikawa put on his best, believing, smile, and took a breath, getting the verses to the song ready in his head.

"Funny how we both end up 'happy' but everything seems alright, ooh~
I wonder what would've happened if we went back and put up a fight~
'Cause once opon a time, you were my everything. Clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing~
So, just what do you think could ever take you off my mind?~"

"I will never forget you, and you'll always be by my side. From the day that I met you, I knew that I would love till the day I die. And I will never want much more, and in my heart I will always be sure, I will never forget you. And you'll always be by my side, till the day I die"

The song brought out emotions in Oikawa that haven't been felt by him in a year. He wasn't ready for them to come rushing in, taking over his brain, and forcing him to think about the night it all ended.

Oikawa was at a bar, but he wasn't singing this time. He was drinking. Drinking his feelings out. Trying to get rid of the memories. Trying to get rid of the feelings, of everything. He was was hoping on getting drunk, so he wasn't going to stop before he reached thaf point.

Sometime later, a friend of his, Tendou, took a seat beside him. Oikawa glanced over, and offered a tipsy smile as a greeting. "Hello, Kawa. I noticed you were spacing off, is there anything on your mind that you wanna talk about?" Tendou asked, calling over the bar tender. "Ya" Oikawa mumbled.
"Doing it, loving it, everything that we did. And all along, I knew I had something special with him, but sometimes you just gotta know that these things fall through. But I'm still tired and I can't hide my connection with him." Tendou had no idea who he was talking about, but talked to Oikawa about it anyways, at least, until he had to leave.

He got up, around 12:30,  and made his way to drunkly towards the door of the bar, planning on heading home. He was stumbling over his steps, being as drunk as Oikawa was, it was a surprise he could even get up without falling over.

Oikawa never made it past the first street, before he was was struck, and killed.

Atsumu was standing on a podium, looking at the group of faces below him. He could point out some of them, the rest, however, were just meaningless faces to him. He started silently pointing out the groups of people he could see. Everyone who was close to Oikawa was there, this included the 'Pretty Setter Squad', the 'Captains Squad', the whole past of the Aoba Josiah team, and family. Atsumu also saw one face he didn't want to see there. Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi was the reason this whole thing was happening in the first place. He didn't care when he broke things off with Oikawa. Didn't care that he shattered his heart, or that he broke Oikawa so much. So why is he here now?

The crowd fell silent, and they realized that Atsumu was standing there. The all looked towards him, waiting for him to talk. Atsumu looked back on them, taking deep breaths.
"I'm pretty sure we all know why we're here"-he started-" and it's not a very happy reason. Some of you, might not care what happened, and might be here for moral support for a loved one, while others are here to say 'goodbye' one last time. Although, saying goodbye usually means that it's the end, in this case, it means 'see you later', because we will all see him in time. Oikawa didn't deserve the ending he got, and he definitely did not deserve the things he had to go through, but he still fought against the hard times, and I know if he were here, he'd be saying 'keep your head up! Be happy! Because you being happy makes me happy, and we're all that matters in the world!'. Oikawa was my best friend, and it's going to be hard not having him with me, but I will get through it, as I'm sure most of the rest of you will too. Oikawa was the sweetest person ever, and he loved you all equally, no matter how much you hurt him."

By the end of Atsumu's little speech, he had tears rolling down his face, and so did most of the people in the crowd. He walked off the podium, going to his fiancée and hugging him.

After the funeral, when everybody was leaving, Atsumu went up to Iwaizumi. "Hey, Iwaizumi, can I talk to you?" He asked. "Umm, sure.." Iwaizumi answered hesitantly. Atsumu grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him towards the trees lining the sidewalk. "Soo, what'd ya wanna talk about?" "Oikawa. I wanted to tell you something Oikawa told me after you left him." Atsumu noticed how Iwaizumi's mood deflated as he was talking. "...get in with it then.." He mumbled. Atsumu nodded.

"He was feeling it, loving it, everything that you did. And all along, he knew he had something special with you. But sometimes you just gotta know that those things fall through. And he couldn't hide his connection with you." Atsumu's words were really getting to Iwaizumi, and a tear slid down his cheek. But, even though he noticed, Atsumu continued talking. "He said, he will never forget you, and you'll always be by his side. From the day that he met you, he knew he'd love you till the he died. And he would never want much more, and in his heart he would always be sure. That he will never forget you, and you'd always be by his side, till the day he died." Atsumu watched as the man I front of him broke down, he watched with pride as he saw the man sob into his knees. Atsumu heaved the man to his feet, and looked him in the eye. "He would never forget you, till the day he died." And with that, Atsumu left Iwaizumi sobbing on the sidewalk.
