"Alex, watch out!"
I duck as a snowball whizzes past my head, landing a good distance on the ground behind me with a thunk. I gape at the figure at the rear of the tree, wondering how exactly a person's aim could quite possibly be that good.
Martin pops out from behind it, grinning, his cheeks flushed from the winter chill. "Didn't see it coming, did you?"
"You better be glad I warned you," Porter chuckles, his arm sneaking around my side. Warmth spreads all the way down to my frozen feet as his fingers brush against my waist.
"I'm so glad," I say, waiting patiently until Martin turns back in the direction of the others. Porter and I exchange a look, then without further warning, reach down and begin to form a massive snowball with our gloves. Shrieks of laughter sound from a good ways away, so I know the others haven't noticed us yet. The ball seems to be a good size, and we hoist it up together. It's almost the size of a head - just good enough to knock someone off their feet. And hopefully not give them permanent brain damage.
"Hey Martin," Porter yells, stifling laughter as we huddle together to fend off the cold on our fingertips from the snow.
Martin turns his head slightly, and we use it as a chance to throw the massive snowball with all of our strength. Mostly Porter's.
The 20-pound snowball smacks Martin in his legs, and he falls back on his ass with a thud that resembles in sound to a bellyflop in a pool. The noise is so loud that it seems like every kid and parent in Central Park look over, curious as to what the distraction was. I'm a little concerned that it actually DID kill him for a second, but then his head moves up slightly from his position beneath the snow and he struggles to regain his breath."Fuck you!" He yells loudly, making no motion whatsoever to stand up.
Porter is doubled over in laughter beside me, clutching his sides as he listens to Martin's angry threats of revenge. I look on at Tess, Anton, Hugo, and Dillon, who are staring at us with confusion and amusement.
Martin finally hoists himself out of the snow, grumbling about burning Porter's "fuckboy clothes" later on. His own clothes are damp with water, and he's practically shivering with the chill."Can we please go back?" He stutters, shaking faintly. His face still has a twinge of anger, but underneath it all I can tell he's smiling.
Porter realizes his seriousness and moves forward to apologize. "Hey, sorry. I didn't realize it was enough to knock you down. You good?"
He flips around to yell at the others to head back before Martin can reply, beginning to stalk off in their direction.
And before I can yell anything, Martin flies over and yanks Porter's pants straight down to his ankles, bare legs and all.
"That's what you get, asswipe!"
My gaze takes in Porter's shocked and then embarassed expression as he realizes what just happened. He shifts back first to Martin, and then me, taken by surprise.
The four others, now approaching, are just now realizing what happened as well. Dillon and Anton are practically wheezing with laughter, while Tess and Hugo look at us with tiresomeness. Porter struggles to pull his pants back up, my eyes quickly sneaking a peek at his cute little butt before he can notice. He shivers from the brief chill and then hesitates to join the others, grabbing my hand. Whether his cheeks are tinted red with embarassment or the cold, I'm not sure, but whenever he blushes it's adorable.
