okay okay first off i want to say i don't really know why i started this or how it got so many reads in the first place. if you read this and enjoy this - thank you! i love you more than you know.
most of this was written awhile ago, when I was 14, so there's a TON of cringe-worthy chapters/moments and cliches - you've been warned! i'll be editing it once the story is completed, so bear with spelling/grammar mistakes and anything that seems kind of out of place. this is kind of a way of expression for me, as i love writing and Porter and i appreciate his music and personality more than anything, and i hope that if you clicked on this, then you do too!
*PROLOGUE*
It all started when Tess forced me to go to some club in Soho.
I laid on my bed, listening to music as it blared through my headphones. We were supposed to be there in an hour, and I was laying with my hair wrapped in a towel, not finding the motivation to stand up and at least find something to wear.
It was the middle of January, and some DJ she wanted to see really badly was in the city. I usually just tagged along and stayed near the bar; huge crowds weren't exactly that comfortable for me.
My phone started vibrating in my hand, and I looked at the screen to see who it was. "your favorite!!!" it said in big letters. Tess had stolen my phone a couple of weeks ago in an attempt to put multiple selfies on Instagram before I had intervened and taken it away from her, but not until she changed her contact name and picture.
I slid to answer the call.
"Hello?" I said, the music disappearing and leaving my ears ringing.
"Alex! Let me in, I've been buzzing your apartment for the last ten minutes!" She huffed impatiently on the other line, and I stood up, my mouth falling open in recognition.
"Sorry!" I said, shuffling downstairs to get the door for her. I opened it to see her glaring at me, wearing sequined shorts, a tight white t-shirt with a necklace, and heels. Then there was me, in a ratty old tee and shorts I had thrown on when I got out of the shower.
"Jesus Christ, you're not even ready yet. Get on some clothes so we can go ahead."
I mumbled something about accidentally falling asleep and ran upstairs as she went to go find something to drink in my kitchen. Opening my closet, my eyes skimmed over the racks of clothing, trying to find something appropriate to wear. My eyes settled on some clothes that I usually wore, and without further thought, I pulled on the outfit.Dashing down the stairs, I grabbed my bag with my phone and wallet, and searched for Tess. She was sitting in the living room watching some rerun of the Kardashian's on my TV. I grimaced and tapped her on the shoulder, and she jolted back and slapped me on the arm. "Don't scare me like that!" She yelled.
"It's my apartment, idiot!" I threw my arms in the air.
She giggled and stood up, yawning. "Ready to go?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." I said back, slinging my bag over my shoulder.
We made it to 46th Street, where the nightclub was. People were streaming inside, where loud music was playing, and shouts were heard. I had no idea who was playing, but I figured I'd find out soon enough. After we got inside, I looked around the nightclub. Lights were blaring everywhere, and sweaty bodies were pushed up against each other, pumping their fists in the air. I'd been to a couple of raves before with Tess, but not ever here. Most of the producers had been unknown and not that popular, and their music wasn't all that great. It was just how cheap it was that led us to go to them, and we seemed to pretty much enjoy ourselves anyway.
