hey guys ~
i might do an update in a few days because this isn't that long and its been a week, and i have a lil bit saved so i'll see what i can do :)
We spent the rest of the night watching movies in the living room.
They didn't have many movies since they just moved in and didn't bring much, but they had Netflix on their new flatscreen so that was perfect to me. We turned on My Neighbor Totoro (after arguing between that and my choice, Lost in Translation). "It's a classic!" Porter exclaimed. I gave in, just because he seemed to adorably anxious to watch it.
I'd seen it before, but Satsuko and Mei were just too cute not to watch again.
"I watched this with my dad when we were little."
He turned his head toward me, his expression curious. "I bet you were a cute kid."
My face burned, good thing he couldn't see me in the dark, or he would tease me. "I always wanted to be the center of attention as a kid. It was kind of embarrassing."
"Didn't all kids? I spent my childhood inside playing Pokemon and video games with my brothers. That's kind of embarrassing."
I laughed and nudged him in the shoulder. "Not really. All boys grow up playing video games."
"I was like, addicted though." He grabbed a handful of the popcorn we were sharing out of the bowl in between us and popped it into his mouth.
My phone rang, blasting Digital Love by Daft Punk throughout the room. Porter looked over me with an amused smile, shaking his head. We both looked at the phone sitting on my lap, and then he poked me in the knee. "Well? Answer it."
I smiled and reached for it, flipping it over to see who it was.
My smile immediately diminished.
"Dallas." I choked out.
He gave me a confused expression. "Who's Dallas?"
My apprehensive, speechless look gave it away. "I don't know what he's gonna say. God, I'm terrified." I burst into nervous tears, my hands beginning to shake.
He looked at me concerned, then furiously at the phone. He stared at it for a second, then grabbed it and answered it.
"Listen up. I don't want you ever laying a hand on her again. EVER." His words were almost venomous - dripping with poison with every sentence he laid out. "If the police has already talked to you, which they will, you'll be immediately put to blame and sent to jail. You don't ever abuse a girl; especially not Alexa. She's an incredible, beautiful person, which you completely ignored. You have no damn respect. You're a sick fuck -" He was interrupted by yelling by Dallas on the other end, angry words sounding through the phone. I heard insults coming my way, and then threats that he would come and find Porter and me, wherever we were. My shaking intensified, and I slapped my hands over my ears, trying to block out the sounds. My heart was pounding heavily in my ears, and my breathing was unsteady. Everything became woozy.
Then two figures entered the room, and one ran over to Porter, the other to me. Anton and Tess were back.
Anton was trying to calm down Porter, who's shoulders were heaving in anger, his back facing me. Tess threw her arms around me, trying to pry my hands from my ears. "Listen to me, honey," she cried, trying to get my attention. "They've got him now. They just took him away. He hung up on Porter; the police took his phone. They just called me and Anton to tell us he was caught."
