so i saw the Fray last week and met the band that was with them, Barcelona (who i LOVE) and we got hugs and autographs and i almost cried because they were so sweet!!! i can't wait to see aer, katastro, and the dirty heads next week too. i go to way too many concerts, its an unhealthy obsession. oops.

also, i've added music videos for every chapter!! you can see them on the top or at the side, depending on if you're on mobile. most of the songs are totally unrelated, just EDM songs I really like. :)

let me stop blabbing - here's chapter 26!

After a call from one of the staff telling me to meet them backstage, I gave Porter a quick hug and told him I'd meet up with him later today. I wasn't really sure where they wanted me to meet them, all I knew was that I was supposed to be backstage soon to help unload some equipment that the upcoming DJ would need.

I found the door to lead backstage successfully, and after showing my ID to the security guard, I realized I was on a long hallway with many doors and had no idea which one I was supposed to enter. Luckily, I saw Martin sitting down in a chair at the very end of the corridor, drinking a bottle of water and watching the end of Headhunterz's set. You could see the stage from where he was sitting,  and hear the heavy thudding bass and music almost directly in front of you.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Martin said, swallowing a sip of his water. "I love their music, they're great."

I nodded, looking out into the crowd. I could vaguely see people, but not the whole entire crowd, just the front few rows. "This is kind of scary. When does he end?"

Martin laughed, his foot tapping against the floor. "Should be in the next ten minutes. The other staff was just in here, but I don't know where they went. Where did you go?"

"Places." I said, sitting down in the empty chair beside him.

"Ahh," he nodded, crossing his arms. "I'm assuming with Porter."

I blushed. "We just went to the bar and talked. He was busy with interviews and stuff. I doubt I'll see him for the rest of the day."

"Nah, I'm sure it won't be that long. When does his set start?"

I remembered what Porter had told me earlier in the bar. "I think around 8. They had to change it with Avicii's because of something."

"Hmm," Martin looked off into the distance, thinking contemplatively. "He's probably at the Country Music Awards right now."

I almost choked on my spit. "Martin!" He doubled over in laughter, the sound echoing around the hallway. I smacked him on the arm and he tried to stop, his breathing uneven.

"I'm sorry, I apologize. That was uncalled for." He tried to hold in his smile, but I could tell he was about to start laughing again at any second.

"I was yelling at you for a different reason." I stated. "I'm pretty sure they can hear you out there so you might want to keep it down."

"Seriously? You can't hear anything over that music. One thing about EDC is that when a DJ is playing, you can never expect the music to be anything but mind-blowingly loud."

I thought about this, then shrugged my shoulders. The music was pretty loud. I had never really been to many concerts before, so this was definitely something I wasn't used to hearing.

Martin set down his water bottle and changed his expression, looking down the hallway at the now approaching group of people. They all had on black shirts, so I realized that they were staff and stood up, ready to go wherever they were headed. There was only three or four of them, and they nodded politely at the two of us before opening the door to the stage. I understood now that we had to go out on the stage, and swallowed hard, trying to ignore my racing pulse and anxiety. We were about to go out in front of thousands of people. Sure, none of them were going to be paying attention since there was no DJ, but it was still more people than I'd like to be in front of.
