i have a little bit of writer's block and am also hoping for more time to write this story this weekend (but I have so much stuff to do uGH) so maybe i'll get it all straightened out and figure out where the heck this story is going. i have it all planned out but i just need to put it down on paper.
i hope you're all doing well - this week has been full of bad news for me and my family, but i'm holding up. i can't exactly say whats been going on, but its definitely hard on all of us. hopefully things will get better soon, as it can only go up from here!
love you all! :)
This place was insane.
The entire room was surrounded by glass walls, overlooking New York at 360 degrees. I tried my hardest not to gape as I followed Tess and Anton to get drinks at the bar. Robin and Dillon had disappeared in the mass of people that were now in the building, taking up every square inch of space and dancing freely to the music. The best part about all of this? A pool and hot tub was placed in the middle, which meant lots of drunk people jumping in and splashing anyone within a 10-feet radius. I backed up towards the wall as we passed, making a mental note to not get wasted enough to jump into that.
We spotted Dillon already playing music from the front of the club. He was playing a song that sounded vaguely familiar in my ears, but I just couldn't place it. "Who is this?" I asked, trying to listen closely.
"I think it's Duke Dumont." Tess said, scrunching her nose. "Its good, whatever it is."
I nodded. I wanted to pull out my phone and Shazam it for the name, but I didn't think it was appropriate in a club like this. The music was blaring so loud as we passed, louder than any club I'd ever been in. After working at Cielo for so long, you would think I'd get adjusted to the music playing loudly. But this was on a whole other level.
"Holy shit," I said, as we stopped to say hello to some friends of Antons. "Why does he have it up so loud?"
Tess giggled, ignoring my wide-eyed look. "I don't know. Why don't you go up there and ask him?"
I turned back to the front, watching Dillon bob his head, absorbed in the music. "I don't think that's a good idea. Do you know where Robin went?"
Tess shrugged. "No idea."
I decided to venture off and look around for her. I didn't really have anything else to do, and I was worried Robin didn't know that many people. As soon as I stepped away from Tess, I had to practically push my way through the people that hung in crowds everywhere. It was amazing how many people could fit in one space. This must really be a kickass party.
There was a hallway leading to a bathroom, and I stepped past a group of girls giggling at the entrance. They were almost staring at me as I walked inside. As soon as the door closed, they burst into laughter, leaving me red-faced and wondering if something was wrong with me. I tried to look in the mirror, but I didn't see anything out of place. I was almost scared to walk back outside.
Thankfully, Robin emerged from a stall, smiling at me softly. "Hey," She said brightly, coming up the sink beside me to was her hands. "How's the party?"
"It's going good." I said, leaning back against the sink. "I wanted to look for you to make sure you were having a good time, but I didn't know where you were. I figured you didn't really know that many people here - not that that's bad, or anything. I don't really know that many people either." I blushed, trying to stop myself from rambling.
In my relief, she just laughed. "Don't worry. I met a lot of Dillon's management and I've met a lot of producers as well. Perks of going around with him to shows and festivals. I get to meet awesome people like you."
