To my surprise his fridge was actually not empty and I was able to find all the ingredients, that I needed for the chicken soup. I wondered if he went grocery shopping for himself or if someone did it for him, since he was basically rich.
I started to clean the chicken as he walked into the kitchen. He dragged his feet, indicating that he was not feeling good.
"Are you alright?" I asked and put the chicken, vegetables and some seasonings in a pot filled with water.
"Why would you ask that, when I'm clearly not?" he groaned.
"Why are you always so mean and rude to me?" I shot back and looked at him.
"I'm not." He blankly responded and took a glass from one of the hanging cabinets, filled it with water and swallowed some of the liquid with a pill. "Just sometimes and today I'm in a bad mood."
I struggled to turn the stove on. He noticed it.
"Move."
He motioned for me to get away from the stove. I did and he turned it on for me.
"Thank you." I mumbled, while I began to rinse the rice.
"Why are you in a bad mood today?" I broke the awkward silence between us.
Jungkook was sitting on a barstool now and watched me prepare his food. I felt like his maid but to my own surprise I didn't mind. It was part of my fault that he was not feeling good after all.
"Because they left me here with you." he said and pinched the bridge of his nose, while he was grinning at me but it looked pained.
I felt bad for him, only able to imagine how bad his head must've hurt.
"Just kidding," he began to talk again, because I had stayed silent, "I'm in a bad mood, because it angers me that I can't do anything right now and I feel bad, because they have to change the choreography because of me. That means extra work for the others."
His chin was resting on the back of his hand and he sighed.
""I know how you feel. When I was younger I injured my foot right before an upcoming dance competition and I was so angry at myself, because it felt as if I was letting my whole dance team down but you know in the end the still managed to win the competition even without me."
I smiled at him.
"But they can't shoot the music video without me."
He ran a hand through his long hair, that reached to his cheeks.
"I know. I'm just trying to tell you that everything will be fine. Just don't stress out about it too much and focus on getting better instead. Hoseok already offered to help you with the choreography if you'll have trouble remembering it and I will help you too." I said.
"Thank you."
I almost didn't believe my ears as I heard those words from him because it was the second time that he had said them to me today.
He stood up from the barstool and sat down on the couch. His back was facing me now and he covered himself with a blanket. The TV was turned on and he started to watch some Anime.
As I watched the rice boil, I remembered that I still hadn't given him his lyrics back. I set a timer on my phone for the chicken and rice and walked over to Jungkook. Sitting down on the other couch, that was opposite to his, I took the pieces of paper out of my purse. He was not paying attention to me.
I cleared my throat, feeling nervous all of a sudden.
"Jungkook."
I tried to get his attention and shifted on the couch.
