Chapter 16

Adrien/Cat Noir POV

I go to the first place I can think to look: the warehouse. Lia mentioned that she met the Master there.

The warehouse has no roof, and at least a quarter of each wall has burned down. The place should be under construction, but the owner, who is probably also the Master, won't pay for it. I go inside as quietly as I can, hiding behind broken objects and pieces of the roof that have fallen.

As I keep wandering, I hear voices. I hide behind an empty shelf and listen.

"... me see her"

I hear some ruffling, then the same voice says "That's not the Progeny", and he says it quietly enough, however the anger in that sentence is still very audible.

I try to peak over the shelf to see what's going on. I look over for one second, then I fall back down immediately.

I saw Lia, probably unconscious, lying in front of someone, but they were in the shadows so I couldn't see who. Surrounding her were the people who broke into my apartment and took her.

I need to get her out.

I look around the warehouse, trying to come up with a plan. All I see is an open sky and broken shelves and dark, broken walls.

I could just go in and grab her, but I don't think that would work. I need to do something, fast.

I need a distraction.

I then get an idea. Plagg, claws in I whisper. "Hide Plagg"

I then get out the Tiger Miraculous, put it on my hand, and whisper Roarr, stripes on!

Growl! I say. The Tiger Miraculous' special ability is Growl, it paralyses the enemy in fear for a few seconds, and weakens them after.

I jump up, then I realise that everyone is standing normally, except Lia, who is in a state of shock, the effect it should have had on everyone else. Well, I guess I'm improvising.

I jump down from the shelf as three holders run towards me. Venom! I hear, and I quickly dodge it. "Lia!" I shout. She looks at me, and it physically hurts to see her, or even anyone this stressed and hurt.

"Lia, just hold on!" and I try to distract them. I don't know where the guy who's probably the Master is, but I can't worry about that now.

I fight them with my whip (the Tiger Miraculous weapon), and I hit them a few times, but it's not slowing them down. I suddenly realise I'm surrounded against a wall, so I slide under them, and try to get Lia. She has finally gotten up, and it looks like it's taking her all of her energy just to stay up.

I gesture for her to come over to me with my head, not wanting to draw attention towards her by saying her name. She hurries towards me, and I go towards her, and just when I'm about to grab her hand and get out, someone lands between us.

Their hood is up, so I can't see their face. However, I can see their physique. They have very broad shoulders and a buff body, way taller than me. They are facing towards me, and I try to peak behind them to look for Lia, but I can't see her.

"One more step, Tiger, and I snap her neck", he then grabs Lia by the arm, and holds her in front of him. Lia screams. I need to get her out.

I hold up my hands, and stay still.

"Get out", he snarls. I can't just leave her. "GET OUT!" he repeats, and it terrifies me, but I can't leave Lia. I decide to pretend to leave, but stay to try and get her after.

I run out of the building, then go back in and hide behind a shelf. Once I get back to the place where she was, everyone is gone without a trace.
