Y/N POV

The cool breeze blows gently against my face as I take in what Chase just said, then I realise I don't understand any of it.

"Where what goes?"

"Progenies. We are Prognies"

"Well... isn't, like, everyone a progeny?"

"No, no, no" says Chase, grinning. "We are Progenies with a capital 'P'"

"And... what's the difference?"

"Come, let's go to the Core. We can get cake!"

Jade, Chase and I walk to the place called the 'Core'. It's the huge building in the middle of the place, with high, white walls and stained glass windows. The main part of the building is a vast cylinder, and it has a few smaller additional buildings attached to a few parts of it, and outside of it are other buildings, and what look like pitches.

Once we arrive at the Core, I don't know how we will get in. We're just in front of a plain white wall.

"Allow me" says Chase, and he proudly walks up to the cylinder, and traces a door shape on the wall. Suddenly, the bit of wall that was inside the door shape he traced disappears, so it's just a door frame we can walk into.

"Wha..." I mumble, completely lost for words.

"Don't be too impressed" says Jade, rolling her eyes. "You can do it too, and so can I. Chase just likes to show off to the newbies"

"Like I showed off to you, and impressed you?" Chase wiggles his eyebrows.

"Shut up. Let's just go inside"

The first thing we walk into is an open courtyard, with no roof. Vines stretch up the walls on each side of the place. In the middle is a relatively big round table, with a vase of flowers, probably from the field outside.

Past the table is a large door, but Chase and Jade sit at the table, so I can't go inside. I sit down with them.

"Be right back, Imma get some cake!" says Chase, and he goes inside.

"We'll explain everything when he gets back, he likes to be here when we explain stuff to people who just found out about who they are", says Jade.

"Aaw, please can you start explaining?" I ask her, trying to put as much sadness in my voice as possible to make her start.

She smirks. "Nope. Let's talk about something else. Chase is really annoying like that"

I laugh. "So.. you and Chase?" I raise my eyebrows.

Her face goes red. "No! No... I mean, we're just friends. We have been for three years, and I don't wanna make things weird between us. So... do you have any hobbies?"

"Hmm... nothing really that interesting. You?"

She smiles. "Yes. I love ballet, I've been doing it for... ten or eleven years. It's the only thing I'm good at, and the only thing that always makes me feel better"

"Could you show me a dance?" I ask her.

"No, not here" she giggles.

Then Chase comes out with a full two layer cake on a cake stand, however he already has crumbs on his face. "Don't tell me you already had a slice" says Jade.

He grins, and turns the cake around, so the part that was facing his chest now faces us, and a chunk of it is missing. Jade face palms and shakes her head, but I can see that she's smiling, and I smile too.
