Y/N POV

After finally finishing my shift at the grocery shop, I pick up my phone and text Lia, asking what she is doing, as I am bored as hell.

Me: What ya doing??

I start packing up and turning off lights. Once I am ready, I lock doors and walk outside. It's humid, and the sky is dark and clear. I breathe in the fresh air, when suddenly I hear a notification.

My phone lights up with a text, unsurprisingly from Lia.

Lia: Just packing up the last boxes in the warehouse, wanna come meet me?? ;)

Me: Fine only because I'm so nice

Lia: THANKSSSSSSS

I change direction, walking towards the warehouse she has a part time job in, today is her first day. The warehouse had just opened up, and strangely, I had never seen it before Lia got the job.

Once I arrive, she greets me with a smile. Not a 'Omg I'm so happy to see my best friend because I love her!' smile though, more like a 'I've got plans for you and you won't like them so I will try be nice' smile.

"Hey Y/N!" she says, in a falsely sweet voice.

I sigh. "What do you want?"

"You know me too well. Just a tiny favour"

"Fine. What is it?"

"Nothing much, I've done most, but I need help packing away the last things"

"Okay, let's go", and we walk into the building.

It's a huge warehouse, with shelves of boxes everywhere, so it looks like a maze. I'm not sure why, but I have this eerie feeling, like we're being watched. I read about that feeling a billion times in books, but feeling it in real life... it's unnerving to say the least.

I decide to ignore it as Lia leads me to a stack of items, and tells me I need to put them in boxes.

"It's soooo easy, I swear. Just gets slightly boring by yourself. Luckily, I have you and you have me!" she has a big grin on her face as she says that, and it makes me smile too.

I leave my phone and bag on a shelf beside me, and we get to work, and honestly, it's not that bad. Finally, Lia packs the last box, and it's five past eleven.

She lets out a breath. "Finally. That wasn't so-", the lights turn off. It's pitch black.

"L-Lia?" I call.

"H-here" I feel around for her, and find her arm.

"What happened?" I ask, trying not to scream.

"The lights turned off"

"Thank you Captain Obvious, you know what I mean. Now's definitely not the time for jokes"

"Right, sorry. I... that never happens"

"We can use our phone light". I reach into my pocket, then remember. The shelf! I left it on the shelf. I try feeling around for it, but it's no use. I silently cursed. I really hope Lia has hers.

I hear some fumbling, then a light turns on. She shines it right in my eyes, and I hold my hands up to stop it.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" she whisper shouts as she quickly moves the light down.

"We're good. Don't think we need to whisper" I say.

"Yeah, you're probably right. Where's your phone light?"
