Y/N POV
Lia's missing.
My stomach drops when I hear it.
"And..." starts Adrien, "it was my fault" a tear streaks down his face.
I look over at him. "How...?" I barely whisper.
"She... she came to me, looking for help, then we were attacked, and I... I just left her while I tried to get the attackers. When I came back she was gone" he pauses while a tears makes its way down his face. "Then I found her again at the warehouse with the attackers. I tried to get her but... the Master threatened to snap her neck if I came close". He looks out at the picturesque view of London, the bright lights exposing eyes filled with sorrow.
I stop a moment to take it in. Lia was taken, but Adrien did his best. I believe that no matter how bad you mess up, as long as you try to fix it or try to improve you are a good person.
And that's what Adrien did. He made a huge mistake and blames himself. He tried to get her again, but because her life was on the line, he had no choice but not to. He tried.
I'm definitely not mad at him. In fact, I'm glad he told me. Although I'm extremely worried about Lia, we can find her together. It'll be a lot better than by ourselves.
"Adrien, it's ok, we'll find her" I look out onto the incredible view, wondering where she could be.
Adrien wipes a tear. "You're... you're not mad?"
"Mad? Of course not! And I know for a fact that Lia won't be either, so don't worry. We'll find her, I promise"
I debate with myself whether I should tell him about the Progeny stuff, or not. Jade's warning voice echoes in my head. Absolutely not.
Eventually, I decide to tell him. I know he won't spread the information. Besides, he told me about all the miraculous stuff, so I should tell him about this.
"Adrien" I start, and look over at him. He looks at me, "Yeah?".
"There's something I need to tell you. About where I was over the last few days. Have you ever heard of... these people with powers of the miraculous called Progenitors?"
His eyebrows pull together. "No"
I explain to him about Progenies and Progenitors, the Homeland and Jade and Chase.
He stares at me in shock. "But... how... how didn't I know this?"
I shake my head. "I have no idea"
He sighs. "I bet Ladybug knew. She had a lot of secrets she kept from me..."
"You... you still love her?" I ask, something inside my deflating like a balloon and I'm not sure why.
"I'm just waiting for the day I'll move on. Every day I hope I won't think of her that way, that I won't think of her, period. But..."
"Adrien" I say sternly. I look at him seriously, and he returns the gesture.
"Adrien. You can't just... wait for the day " I say. "You're never, never going to move on with that mindset. You need to move on yourself. It's not going to heal eventually, you're not just going to wake up and she won't be on your mind. You just need to learn to... let go" I say. "And I know it's easier said than done" I continue, "but once it is done, you'll feel so much better"
Adrien stares at me in shock. A tear rolls down his face. "You're right. You're right, thank you" he says. The he does something that surprises me. He puts his arms around me, and hugs me. It takes me a moment, but I put my arms around him too.
Eventually, we are sitting together, his arms across my shoulders and my head on his shoulder, watching the world below us.
"We'll look for Lia tomorrow. I'll get Jade and Chase to meet you, they might be able to help us" Adrien nods, and for a while we sit there enjoying each other's presence.
