Y/N PoV
There's something sinister among us. The temperature rapidly dropped - it's suddenly gotten cold in a matter of minutes. Becca comes close to me. Tears are forming in her eyes. Adrien is at my other side.
"Run!" screams Becca. "The Core is that way!" she shouts as she points in a certain direction.
Without looking back I sprint faster than I ever had - the wind whispering through my ears, my vision is just a blur of colours. Eventually, I make out the shape of a colossal white building straight ahead, which seems to give me an extra surge of energy. With my last bit of new found hope, I put everything into a final sprint and rapidly trace a semicircle shape in the wall so I can get in.
Once I'm in, I take a moment to breath. My chest complains about the lack of air I got when I was running, and I take in deep breaths swiftly. Adrien follows closely behind. But Becca doesn't.
When my breathing has slowed to a normal pace, I take in my surroundings. Becca is absent from them.
"Becca? Becca!" I feel the beads of sweat forming on my forehead, and the ground begins to sway beneath my feet, and my eyes are darting to random corners of the room - desperately searching for the blond girl who has a dream to go to Paris some day.
The door I created closes. Everything that happened is a brick and it hits me charging at full speed to my head. I watch in horror and grief as the realisation washes over Adrien, and his face contorts into a look of disbelief, that our new friend is never going to Paris and never coming home.
The walk back to the main room where the others are was putting one foot in front of the other while memories of Becca linger in the air. I knew her only for a few minutes, and yet now that she's gone it feels like all the air was suddenly sucked from my lungs.
We walk into the main room and Jade and the others observe us with a hopeful look in their eyes. That look is replaced with shock once they notice Becca's absence.
