Adrien/Cat Noir POV
I walk out of the warehouse, guilt and worry ripping me to shreds. I need to find Y/N. She's the only one I can talk to about all this Miraculous stuff.
I'm on my way to my apartment, walking through town. I look around the place. There are various businesses on either side of the road. I look across the road, and I can't believe my luck.
Walking out of a shop is Y/N! I look at where she's coming out of. 'Homeland Bar' is what it says on the building. I wonder what she was doing in a bar.
She notices me, and for a moment we just stare at each other, then we snap out of it. She looks left and right and crosses the road towards me.
"I'm so sorry!" she says. "I haven't been around"
"It's fine, but..." I look down. I can't even look her in the eyes.
"What is it?" she asks.
"Can we go back to my apartment to talk about it?"
She looks like she thinks about it for a moment, then she says "Can we go somewhere else?"
I nod, unsure why doesn't want to go back to our apartments.
"Come with me" she says, and so I follow her.
She leads me to a tall, empty looking building. Through the many glass windows I see that the lights are off.
"Lia's dad used to work here, before he died. The company he worked with abandoned this building to run a new one. No one would buy the place and it was too expensive to knock down, so they just left it, and now anyone can go in"
I know she said we're allowed, but when we walk in I still have this feeling we should try to be discrete in case we get caught.
We have to go up the stairs as there is no power in the building to run the elevators. I use my phone as torch because it is so dark.
After around 10 minutes of walking up the stairs, Y/N turns to face me and grins.
"Just through this door. Trust me, it'll be worth it," and with that, she places her hand on the door and pushes open to reveal the roof of the building. I walk through the door and I'm amazed by what I see.
A purple blanket of clouds covers the sky, the slightest patch that's exposed is a pink streak running across the horizon. Lights of gold illuminate the whole city, and a wide river lies under long bridges, accommodating the reflections of every building. The white circumference of the London Eye is visible, illuminated by indigo lights to the right of the river. The many buildings that lie behind the ones right in front of me almost look unreal, like they were drawn on computer then printed out and stuck on an invisible wall. Big Ben stands confidently to the left of my vision on one side of the river, it's large clock face almost glowing white, reflecting its light onto the intricate detail of the triangular-shaped roof.
The whole place looks unreal. I was so distracted with everything bad that I hardly had time to realise all the good. For one thing, I looked at London every day, but I never really saw London. I never knew the place was so picturesque. I was blinded by all the stress and worry that had been eating away inside of me to notice the small, good things right in front of me. So many amazing things have happened to me since I left Paris, and I didn't even notice: I met Y/N and Lia, I saved people's lives, I was welcomed with open hands to this new city. I begin to regret not noticing all this earlier. I realise that if this city suddenly disappeared off the map just an hour ago I never would have got to appreciate it so much, and that terrifies me. I feel like I've just woken up from a nightmare that I didn't even realise I was having.
I look over at Y/N. The golden lights shine on her face, and she smiles.
She really is pretty.
She gestures for me to follow her, and we sit on the side of the roof, our legs dangling off, only about 50 feet away from certain death by falling off a building, but I just know it won't happen.
"So... what is it you want to tell me?" asks Y/N.
The few moments of relief are suddenly gone, and the anxiety I have carried over the last few days weighs back onto my shoulders.
"It's... it's Lia. She-she's missing"
