Mphakamseni The Arranged Man
#06
MPHAKAMSENI (PHAKA)

Monday came the story made the front line on the paper's and Phaka was the talk of the town. Headlines:- THE FAT SMELLY MAN STEALS MILLIONS FROM THE COMPANY THAT FEED HIM. Today was day the boardroom members came up with a conclusion.
" I want him arrested we have all the information." Bheki stated, the whole situation was getting out of hand. Ndlela was starting to feel bad of what he did. He just wanted Phaka to be removed from the company not arrested! Maybe him being in jail will make him closer to Zelo. He will definatly go to jail for a crime he didn't commit. This was not suppose to happen!
Phaka was sitting at home looking at the newspaper with his aching heart. Maybe he was not destined for great things. When he tries to pick his life up walls seem to collide. The door bell rand and Zelo opened.
"good morning mam, I'm officer Dabeka is Mphakamseni around?" She didn't respond she just moved aside letting them in. Phaka saw the policeman and that made him shiver. He knew that his life was over. He knew it's time he accepted his fate.
"are you Mr Khumalo Mphakamseni?" The officer, Mr Daniels asks. He is ready to handcuff him.
"y...yes." he answered shaking in fear.
"you are under arrest for theft and fraud. What ever you say or do will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to remain silent. If you do not have a lawyer the court will provide you one." They cuff him and pushed him towards the door.
"it's okay babe, don't say a word. Officer can you please do me a favour, I want him to be alone in the cell that's all I ask for." My wife was trying to be strong for me but deep down she was breaking. Phaka kept quite, he thought that his world has come to an end. He felt shuttered on the inside knowing he has no one beside his mother and his wife.

SIBEKEZELO (ZELO)
After phaka's arrest she drove straight the lawyer's office. She had all the copies that she got from the company.
"something is not adding up. Why would the money would be a direct transfer to his personal account on a Saturday morning? Someone is definitely throwing him under the bus." The lawyer was looking at the papers. Every transaction did not make any sense.
"I don't know but what I know is someone is trying to frame him. I do believe someone has a hand in this." Zelo speaks up.
"I'll contact my IT guy. You will hear from me tomorrow morning." The lawyer states. With these hundred number they are very much traceable.

LATER THAT DAY
Sphiwe Sibisi is one of the best lawyer's that can be trusted. His never lost a case. One thing that makes his work so easy is because his brother is a lawyer and another is an IT guru, he can even track the hidden untraceable files.
Whistles, "boom I got the dog. But he flopped cause he didn't clear cookies on the system. Yazi ulahle ngento eyodwa he forgot to wipe the information from the system and this idiot doesn't know that there are hidden cameras in that office." The IT guys states.
"what an easy case. But I need more about this guy, keep digging. I want to know more about him. He sounds interesting, his dumb for leaving traces behind that will link them back to him." The lawyer Sphiwe projects.

NGCOBO HOUSEHOLD
Bongekile is hurt and beyond broken her son has been arrested. Everyone is rejoicing and celebrating. How cruel can these be people get. If she dies today this shows that her son will be their door mat, how can you rejoice on someone's downfall? It's not even 6 months her son got married but his already facing problems. She prays makoti will stand by him at all cost. Her son needs her more than anything, it's time she lives her life. First step of being happy is to leave this man, she has had enough of emotional abuse from him.
"ay usuhlezi umuncu you're not the same woman I feel inlove with. You're unattractive." Bheki spits fire. Bongekile just kept quite and handed him the divorce paper'
"please free me and sign those paper's. I know you don't need me in your life anymore, and beside you won't even miss me cause you have another family and you spend too much time with them."
"WHAT! " to say his shocked is an understatement. How the hell did she find out? He thought he was playing his cards right. "did you dig into my personal stuff?"
"no but you're wife sent me you're marriage certificate. Please sign I want to leave." Bongekile protests, she wants nothing but peace in her life. She has been living with these people for far too long now. And beside her son needs her more than anything. Bheki took out his pen and signed. The love he had for her vanished the day he first laid his eyes on Phaka, he hated him the first day he saw him. Once she leaves he will bring his other wife and kids into this house.
"done." Simon threw the divorce paper's on her face.
"thank you." With a warmest smile ever. She started packing every thing that belonged to her. It's time for new beginnings God knows she tried to save this family and marriage. She tried her best to have a stable relationship with her other 2 sons Sphesihle and Muzikayise but their father poisoned them against her and she gave up trying. She wheeled all her suitcases out with them watching without care as she went to her car. She looked at Zelos address on a piece of paper and drove off.

SIBEKEZELO (ZELO)
He looked broken inside out. Will he ever come out stronger after this, I wonder how is his mother holding up after I broke the news to her. Atleast my best friend Nana is here helping me in this rollercoaster, I can't even sleep and someone decides to knock at this time of the night, I wonder who is it cause we hardly get visitors.
"expecting someone?" Nana asks. She does know that Phaka and Zelo hardly get any visitors.
"no can you please check, I'm just not in the mood for people." Nana stands up and attended the door finding Phaka's mother with a swollen face and red puffy eyes.
"ngena mah," no questions asked. Nana could tell that all is not well. Bongekile started crying all over again with her hands on her face. Nana pulled her inside of the house giving her a tight hug until she calmed down. Zelo stands up as she saw them approaching
"mama," Zelo calls out for her giving her a questioning look. Words failed Bonge, she didn't know whether to talk or cry. The pain she's feeling got her hard.
"it's over." Bonge states
"what's over mah?" Zelo asks feeling a bit confused of the situation.
"my marriage of 35 years is gone, I left him there was no use being in a loveless marriage, I've been in a loveless marriage for 30 years and I've had enough. I had to stay so I could be close to my son, since his now married there's no use for me to be in that house. My main priority is Phaka and besides his father has another family and a wife on top." Bongekile is shattered, the pain is too much. She has known this man all her life and this is the thanks that he gives her. Zelo was torn apart. She knew long that Simon no longer loves Phaka's mother but didn't know that it was this deep!
"it's okay ma, I'm glad you came here. Let me prepare some food for you and don't even think of rejecting it you need strength." Zelo went to the kitchen and came back with the plate full of food.
"how is my son holding up?" Bonge asks.
"don't worry yourself all will be well in no time. Trust your daughter in-law she's a fighter". Nana adds trying to brighten the mood.
They stayed up talking about life in general and how much she appreciates Zelo as her daughter in law.
"thank you somuch makoti." Bongekile sighs feeling defeated and tired.
"no worries mum. Let me go show you your room."

IN THE MORNING
Zelo woke up and prepared breakfast with everyone gathered on the table. After breakfast they will go to the Sibisi Attorneys.
"being 6 months pregnant is tiring. After eating i feel like sleeping." She complains as usual.
"ay masambe soba late. You are always complaining."
She looked at Bongekile and noticed that she was probably crying the whole night and hardly touched her breakfast.
"yazi mah the way I appreciate you as my mother in law. You are my second mum seeing you cry like this totally hurts me. You need to be strong for your son which happens to be my husband the man that I love. If he sees you like this you will break him even more , stay strong for him. Those tears of sadness must be replaced with tears of happiness. It's now time to dust yourself and show the world that your divorce didn't brake you but rather made you stronger."
"weMah dad needs someone ozomusiza with his new clothing shop in Cape Town. I'm sure you will like a breather and besides Paka is in safe hands." Nana chips.
Since she's divorced this is the perfect timing for Nana to make them closer. Her being a divorcee is actuali a blessing in disguise, her prayers have been answered. Hope she agrees to go to Cape Town.
"you girls sure know how to brighten my mood." they laughed. This is the new beginnings for Bongekile even though her son is in a holding cell. It's time she goes starts afresh, maybe being in Cape Town will refresh her mind and make her a new person. The ex-husband will definitely remember her some day that she knows for sure. No woman will stay for that long in a marriage standing up for nonsense. But everything she puts it in God's hands.
