Mphakamseni The Arranged Man
#07
SIBEKEZELO"so in other words he was framed?" I ask just to be sure. I knew that Phaka would never steal that kind of money.
"Mrs Ngcobo as you can see on the tape, Ndlela had a strategy but was stupid enough cause he forgot to wipe out the information from the system and there are also hidden camera's he don't know about. Judging from the looks if things Ndlela steals alot of money from your father's company and frame other worker's for his dirty work." The lawyer tells me. I'm shocked, so my father's company now hire thief's.
"so what will happen now?" Bongekile asks with her eyes swimming in the pool of tears. The love she has for her son is remarkable. It's a pity that our parents are not the same.
"I will present all the evidence in the court tomorrow and with this information he can be prisoned for a life. Fraud is serious allegations, by tomorrow evening Mr Ngcobo will be at his house that will be all for today." We sigh in relief. I haven't slept a wink thinking about my poor husband. I'm sure he has given up. We walk out of the premises with hope, hoping that everything goes well tomorrow. I don't see my life without this man of mine.
"can we pass by my dad's for lunch it's just around the corner." Nana invites us. She's a married woman, but the time she makes to support me makes me feel like a bad friend to her.
"even if we said no ubuzothi masambe still," she doesn't take no an answer.
"I'm just going to pass by the house." Bongekile tells us and I doubt for a fact that she will be denied that opportunity.
"ay mama you're going to Cape Town remember, starting a new life masambe. We need to spend some times as girls." Nana is a uplifter spirited person, and I did say she will definitely say 'no' to Mama's opinion. Nana can be a bully at times but all in all she has a heart of Gold. We were friend's since primary and no one knows me like she does even my own family knows nothing about me, I last talked to them on the day of my wedding. I've tried to reach out to them multiple times but they bluntly ignored me and they ended up blocking me. None the less I'm grateful that Nana's dad gave me a position in his oil and gas company and I ended up buying half of the shares and no one knows except for Nana and my husband.
"home sweet home. Baba ukuphi!" She's shouting around the house with her belly popped out. We make ourselves comfortable on the soft couches.
A handsome man approaches us. You can tell that his old but still looks young with all those muscles blending well with that neat hair cut.
"have you come to finish all my food Nana?" Her father asks pointing at her stomach.
"ahaha don't startoo, ehe papa this is my friends mother in-law hope you still remember this lovely soul did you know she's also my mother." Nana blurts out and we all turn to look at her. What the hell does she mean, what she just said doesn't make sense at all.
"we meet again Mrs Ngcobo." Zubby greets Bongekile who was blushing looking down.
"it's Miss," she answers smiling. Am I missing something here?
"Ow yes papa she recently got divorced just a few hours ago. The nerve of that man can you believe that he has a wife and other kids." Trust Nana with her big mouth. Never share a secret with her, her mouth is always ranting like a rat.
"I think you've said alot." I remind her. She sometimes forget her place.
"I apologise on her behalf, she intends to talk continuously without her noticing that she's talking. I wonder how she copes with her in-laws." Zubby says making us to laugh.
"Eeeh papa the main reason we are here is because I want you to give mum that position in Cape Townoo." Nana is a straight forward person, with her pregnancy it's making it worse.
___________Zubby is a very observant man, he loved Bongekile years back when she was still happily married. Zubby's wife passed away in a car accident 15 years back since then he hasn't had a stable relationship. If sending Bongekile to Cape Town will bring them closer together is the only option then it must be done. He has waited for years to finally get what's his. The man, Ngcobo messed up big time. He lost out on a rare germ and as for Zubby he pro-claims that's where he belongs.
"Tomorrow we leaving." Zubby's announcement makes Bongekile somehow, finding herself deeps in thoughts. She found asking herself questions. Is she ready for this? Is she ready to forget about her previous life and marriage? Will her son be okay without her? For once she decides to put herself first after thirty years.
"Short notice but problem solved. We need to go shopping." Nana has always wanted Bongekile to be her step mother. This is just the beginning for her father's happiness. She knew that her father was very much inlove with this woman.
