Gentle disclaimer before we proceed for those of you who are new to my stories, I write so that you as the reader become the characters you're reading about.
I'm aware it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I really like exploring this style so if you dislike it then I'd appreciate it if you left quietly without leaving hate ❤️

The gentle sound of the waves hitting the beach shoreline surrounded you as you walked alongside it; staying close enough for the waves to barely miss your feet whenever they charged in— a soft sigh escaping past your lips while you tiredly looked out over the dull scenery in front of you.

Imagine living in a colorless world, where the only colors you're able to see consist of the oh so many shades of grey, black and white.

This is the world that some of us live in... Mono's.

And the only way for us to see color is through finding our so-called ''Probe''; this ridiculous soulmate-like knock-off concept made by whatever higher powers there might be out there, seeming more like an absurd game rather than the ''romantic'' description normal people had made up for your kind.

Nonetheless, this was your world—  dull and colorless in all its glory, which quite frankly you didn't mind all too much.

Of course, it would be a lie if you said the world's true colors didn't intrigue you in the slightest. But were you going to play into this absurd game and live your whole life trying to scout for your Probe to help subdue that curiosity?

Fuck no.

Let's be realistic, the said probe could be anyone and anywhere in this world. And whoever that may be will be living their life perfectly well without bothering with their Mono.

Seeing as to how the Probes clearly were favored by life and given the ability to see colors unlike us Monos, there's no doubt in your mind that those said people could care less about actually finding their destined Monos.

A breathy and soft laugh left your lips as you stopped in your tracks, checking the time on your phone before slowly raising your head to look out over the ocean one final time.

Things had gotten a bit... Uncomfortable, to say the least, when your classmates had found out about you being a Mono.

Which eventually lead to forms of bullying as they found your somewhat disadvantage in life a hilarious asset to pick on, and they seemed to overall enjoy just making your life a living hell in whatever way they could for the whole first year.

Jungkook: Fucking idiots... I'm really no different from you...

Though thankfully you were approved for a University transfer at the start of your second year, and your flight to Seoul would be departing at 1pm today— meaning you should start heading to the airport soon.

And so you began making your way back up to the nearby café that was overlooking the beach where you had locked your suitcase in; given how you wanted to have a peaceful last walk at the beach for a bit— without having to struggle to pull a heavy suitcase behind you.

Nonetheless, you swiftly fetched your suitcase from the locker before making your way to the nearest bus stop where you got onto bus number 12 which would take you straight to the airport.

All your other belongings had already been shipped over to the Universitys dormitory you would be staying at, so all you really needed to worry about now was making sure you got yourself there safe and sound.

You scanned your transportation card before slowly making your way to an empty seat in the far back— gaze slowly travelling out of the window next to you and over to the ocean which eventually disappeared off in the distance as the bus drove in the other direction; earning another sigh out of you whilst you leaned back in your seat whilst letting your eyes flutter shut

All though you felt glad you were able to escape this place and attend another University with new people and new surroundings, you couldn't ignore the anxiety creeping up on you as the worry of things not changing, or rather— possibly changing for the worse wouldn't leave your mind.

The taunting laughs and disgusted remarks made by other students automatically beginning to replay in your mind like a broken record stuck on repeat

''Guys I heard he's one of those Monos, fucking weirdo...''

''Ew what the hell, what if one of us is his Probe? Do you think he'd cling onto us like some desperate freak''

''We should steal some bleach from the janitor's closet, if he can't see then the problems solved isn't it?''

A sudden and rather haunting memory suddenly flashed through your mind as you recalled a certain day which had started off just like any other; you had been making your way to the universitys cafeteria when someone suddenly called out your name behind you; and when you had turned around there was no time to react before some type of a liquid was thrown right into your eyes— immediately having made you fall down onto your knees from utter fear while covering your painfully stinging eyes as taunting laughter had echoed throughout the hallway.

Thankfully it had only been soap water that day, but you still vividly remember how someone had crouched down next to you and grabbed your shoulder, whispering a ''Next time it won't be soap water mono, watch your back'' into your ear which undoubtedly sent a horrified shiver down your spine.

You swiftly opened your eyes and shook your head in an attempt to shake off the unwanted memories whilst trying to steady your breathing which automatically had sped up and turned hitched from the unpleasant flashbacks.

Jungkook: I can't believe these stupid memories still have such a big effect on me...

Once you reached the airport, you got off the bus and made your way inside— navigating through the busy airport as you tried to locate your gate. And after finally checking in, you were now able to relax for a bit until the boarding gates opened.

So you slowly approached the big windows looking out over the airport's flight runway, showing flights departing and arriving every now and then. And all though you admittedly felt worried about what the next 3 years of university in Seoul had in store for you, all you could hope for was a new beginning...

''Boarding gate 3 for Flight 304 departing to Seoul, South Korea is now open''

A soft smile found its way onto your lips as you nodded to yourself, muttering out a soft ''New beginnings here I come...'' before starting to make your way there with sure steps.
