【 Jungkook 】

It's already been over a week since you began a new chapter in your life, and by now you had thankfully slowly started to adjust to your new surrounding; not to mention you had finally managed to memorize the locations of lecture halls, studios, and so on— which certainly helped ease the previous anxiety you felt by a lot

And after having explained your situation regarding color vision to your professors, you were granted permission to avoid doing colored work projects; essentially allowing you to put your entire focus towards B&W art— under the condition that you would still attend all the classes properly and try your best to memorize the theoretical parts, even if you couldn't see colors.

So far it all seemed to work out quite alright, and even though it was difficult to understand and memorize the parts they taught about color theory— given how you had a hard time keeping up in understanding what they even were referring to in the first place, you still managed to make it work somehow. And the professors were also very understanding of any mistakes that you made here and there, instead quietly correcting you whenever it was needed.

Oh, and your wishes really seemed to come true, as you and your roommates have all become close friends even in such a short amount of time. 

While the three of you all studied in different majors, thankfully both of their majors shared the same building as your own, which meant the three of you often could grab lunch together or overall hang out and grab coffee together from a café that was located right outside campus whenever you had some time to spare between classes.

Today was unfortunately one of the days where your schedules didn't align, so you currently sat by yourself at one of the many hangout/study areas located throughout the big University building; typing away at your essay while every now and then halting to check for any spelling errors or things that potentially would sound better if it were to be rephrased— all whilst sipping your iced americano in the hopes of keeping your energy up.

A tired sigh eventually escaped past your lips as your gaze slowly ended up traveling away from your computer screen; instead looking up and over your somewhat busy surroundings, letting a soft smile tug at your lips as you took your sweet time admiring the even the most minor details around you.

Despite the ''curse''; as you liked to call it, you always had a habit of easily finding beauty within even the seemingly simplest things in life, and that's really the main reason you eventually took such a huge liking to photo- and videography, which of course led up to you majoring in it later on.

The sight of the sun rays shining in from the windows— landing on the interior oh so beautifully whilst creating soft shadows made you wish you had brought your camera with you; it had been quite a while since you last posted something onto your social media after all.

Nonetheless, just as you were about to try and advert your focus back over to the essay you should be focusing on writing right now, you suddenly happened to briefly lock eyes with another male whom was passing by your table— and of course, normally this wouldn't have been a scenario that would catch your attention in the slightest... However, when your dull world momentarily began to fill with magical color yet again, your breath immediately hitched in utter disbelief as you couldn't help but freeze up from a mixture of shock yet pure adoration of the beauty of the colors you currently were seeing.

It wasn't until the colors had faded again that you were able to snap out of your trance and stand up, mindlessly gathering your things before swiftly beginning to make your way in the direction in which the stranger had walked off earlier.

The fact that your probe also had turned out to be a guy was the least of your concerns right now, as you had never even thought about your sexuality to begin with.

That's something you'll have to think about later...

Just as you were about to catch up with the stranger, your steps came to an abrupt halt and swiftly turned away after seeing him approach a female— who in return wrapped her arms around his waist as she gave him a soft peck on the cheek. Instantly making you snap back to the harsh reality of your life as you finally realized the thoughtless move you had made, which now had lead you to the exact reason as to why you never put any effort or care into finding your probe in the first place. The harsh reminder of the reality of this absurd and so-called ''romantic bond'' once again becoming oh so clear as your mind finally cleared up from the temporary daze that the fascination from seeing colors had brought you earlier.

This wasn't a fairytale, probes live perfectly well on their own, and understandably so.
They don't even know they are probes until they're told or see it for themselves through their mono's eyes.

Heck, even if they found out, why would they tie themselves down to someone when it doesn't benefit them in any way?

Even though this was a fact you had known all your life, it frustrated you that a visual reminder was needed in the end for that reality to truly become clear to you.

A soft sigh left your lips as you slowly leaned against a nearby wall— closing your eyes whilst your shoulders subconsciously slumped down in defeat, soon hearing how the couple walked past you while chatting amongst themselves.

Jungkook: Just what was I thinking...

You let out a breathy chuckle before slowly making your way back to the study area you had been sitting at earlier, knowing you needed to finish up that essay you were in the midst of writing earlier; mind almost blank apart from one determined thought which seemed to be stuck on replay in your mind right now

''Now I know who I need to avoid...''

If you're able to avoid him finding out about everything, then you can continue living the seemingly good University life you finally had found yourself in.
All you had to do was avoid any interactions with him— simple.

- Though, maybe that will come to be easier said than done...
