【 Jungkook 】
A tense and rather uncomfortable silence had yet again separated you and Taehyung, all thanks to the events which took place during the first but also final study session back at his apartment— so now whenever you'd accidentally cross paths on campus, you'd merely avoid eye contact, turn around and go your separate ways. Though to be fair, neither of you even knew what you would say to each other at this point, so maybe it wasn't so strange?
That is of course not to assume any conversation would ever even happen if there was a relevant topic to speak to each other about, considering it's hard to forget how you surely scared him away by telling him to look up the Mono stereotypes. Heck, anyone would shiver and run the other way after hearing those things, so there was no reason as to why he wouldn't do the same— especially considering the fact that he was directly involved with you, as he unfortunately happened to be your probe.
Nonetheless, on a more positive side of things, you were glad that your mutual friends whom had become close over time remained that way despite all the fuss Taehyung and you caused. This also meant you'd often get to chat with them in the hallway whenever Taehyung wasn't present, which honestly felt quite nice and far less lonely.
A heavy sigh escaped past your lips while you sat on top of your bed, resting your back against the wall behind you— accidentally having zoned out as you had been looking out of your room's window for god knows how long now.
Admittedly you'd be a complete fool if you tried to state you felt fine right now, as a matter of fact, you felt quite horrible.
Constantly replaying the events of that day in your mind on repeat, cursing at yourself as you couldn't help but wonder if this situation would have turned out differently had you only phrased things differently, or entirely just bit back and not said anything at all... Could the strange connection between you both have been saved, or was it simply destined to eventually shatter either way?
Yet it is impossible to turn back time in order to find out whether phrasing things differently would've changed the end results, so all you could do now was try to accept that it was all hopefully for the better in the end.
A soft knock on your door soon snapped you out of your daze before Yoongi carefully peeked his head inside, flashing you his usual gentle smile whilst speaking in a caring manner
Yoongi: You okay there Gguks, can I get you anything?
He slowly walked over to you before gently grabbing the comforter and draping it over your shoulders— carefully sitting down next to you after you gently patted the mattress, knowing he wouldn't sit down unless you showed him it was okay. Nonetheless, you flashed him a soft yet glum smile while slowly shaking your head as a no to his question, earning a soft hum from the older whom then gently reached up to caress your head in a comforting and friendly manner
Yoongi: I'm sorry we can't do anything to help you in this situation Gguks, but remember we'll always be by your side. I promise everything will be okay, one way or the other.
You carefully rested your head against his shoulder before closing your eyes in an attempt to hold back the tears welling up and trying to escape— his words feeling like the greatest comfort you could get at this moment
Jungkook: I know hyung... Thank you, I don't know what I would do with you guys
He let out a soft chuckle before whispering out a soft "And we don't know what we'd do without you silly" which instantly made a small yet far more genuine smile spread on your lips
