Nearly a week had passed since you last saw Taehyung as your current lecture schedules didn't align whatsoever, though in a way maybe that had been for the better since it gave you more time to gather up the courage to try again; or well rather continue where you left off.
Once your lecture finally got dismissed you calmly began to pack up your things to leave, only for a soft smile spread across your lips as two movie tickets for this Sunday fell out from in between the pages of your textbook— this time you came prepared, as you had bought two tickets in advance which you easily could play off as having received them as a gift, and if Taehyung were to try and tease you about it sounding like a date again, you were determined to more confidently answer him with a ''And so what if it is, would you dislike it?'' this time, which you of course also had planned a backup to in case he did say he hated it.
Though you flinched and swiftly his the tickets back inside your textbook in a panic when a sudden voice spoke up right next to you
?: Oh, you're interested in that movie too?
When you looked up and realized it was Mingyu a faint smile pulled at your lips as you nodded, humming softly whilst uttering out a "Yeah, I heard it was supposed to be really good" which earned a warm chuckle out of him as he teasingly nudged your shoulder
Mingyu: So who's that second ticket for hm? A date?~
A soft crimson flushed on your cheeks as you shyly avoided eye contact whilst shrugging, your answer coming out more as a hesitant whisper than one of confidence
Jungkook: H-Hopefully? I don't know if he'll accept it though...
He gently reached down to pat your head whilst playfully winking at you
Mingyu: I see that's a bit of a shame, well good luck, and let me know if you need a new date yeah?
A soft giggle escaped past your lips as you more calmly grabbed the two tickets out of the textbook once more before showing them into your pocket, swinging your backpack over your shoulder gently as you turned to face him once more
Jungkook: Oh come on stop teasing me Mingyu-ah
He raised an eyebrow as he calmly put his hands in his pockets whilst looking down at you
Mingyu: Oh? But I was being serious, if your date fails then at least try to go on a date with me Jungkook, you have my number.
Before you could neither accept nor deny his offer, he simply just ruffled your hair before walking off which undeniably left you somewhat stunned at the unexpected offer; bewilderedly blinking as you tried to process what he just had said, though you quickly snapped out of it upon realizing how Taehyungs class should've ended by now, and so you began hurrying over since you hoped to talk to him about the movie tickets you had obtained before his next lecture began
There was nearly a light bounce in your steps as you walked down the semi-busy hallway, after all, who would say no to a free movie?
When your eyes finally spotted Taehyung amongst the crowd, you were ready to call out his name and approach him— only to instantly slow your steps down upon noticing how he evidently wasn't alone, rather, an all too familiar brown-haired woman was clearly busy talking to him
Jungkook: Haewon...? What are they-
However, as you were about to continue approaching the duo, you immediately froze in your tracks after seeing how Haewon suddenly wrapped her arms around Taehyung with a smile on her lips; yet what really made your heart drop and shatter into millions of pieces was when you saw how Taehyungs arms slowly reached up and hugged her back. You didn't even notice how an arm happily swung around your shoulder when Jimin and Hobi had walked up behind you
Hoseok: Hi Ggukie, have you asked Taehy-... Oh-...
One didn't have to turn around to know their eyes were widened in shock and disbelief, clearly having seen the same painful sight you currently were witnessing play out right in front of you. A melancholy smile tugged at your lips as you slowly turned away, briefly looking up at your hyungs through subtly tear-filled eyes whilst whispering out a broken ''I was going to, but I got my answer just now...'' before forcing out a breathy laugh to try and mask the incredibly painful throb in your heart
Jimin: Oh Gguk...
Jungkook: I uhm— I'm g-gonna go... In-needto go...
And so you swiftly scurried out of the university's building, not wanting to risk breaking down in the middle of a busy hallway— especially not in front of Taehyung nor your mutual friends. So you mindlessly began to wander down the streets, passing multiple blocks as the only thing you wanted to do right now was to get far away from there; silent tears rolling down your cheeks as your head remained hung low, probably earning a lot of confused looks from other passerby's though that was the least of your concerns right now
The image of the two hugging each other constantly played on repeat in your mind, serving as a harsh reminder that in the end, you never had a chance to become anything more than a mere friend to Taehyung.
A shaky sigh left your lips as you shook your head slowly, mumbling to yourself as you kicked some small stones on the ground
Jungkook: Well, that saved me from a failed date suggestion and an embarrassing confession...
You put your hands into your pockets slowly, only to have your breath hitch lightly when your hand brushed up against the two movie tickets you had bought— a glum smile forming on your lips as you stopped in your tracks, slowly pulling them out of your pocket before looking down at them
Jungkook: What a waste...
Though suddenly something clicked, as you hesitantly glanced down at the movie tickets once more before taking out your phone from your pocket, dialing a certain contact as you let it ring for a little while

Mingyu: Jungkook-ah hi, didn't expect you'd call to reject my offer this soon
Jungkook: Well actually-... Is that offer still up? I have an extra ticket I can't refund, and I'd feel bad choosing between my hyungs since it'd feel like I'm picking out a favorite so—
Mingyu: So you're inviting me?
A soft sigh left your lips as you rubbed the back of your nape slowly, feeling bad that you couldn't return any potential feelings he might have for you right now
Jungkook: Yeah... But-.. Mingyu-ah I'm sorry I have feelings for someone else, so I can't-
Mingyu: I know that, but that doesn't mean you can't give it a try, no? Just try and see how it feels, when was it again?
Jungkook: Sunday 6pm at the xxx cinema inside the mall
Mingyu: Alrighty, I'll see you on Sunday then Jungkook-ah.
