【 Jungkook 】

The two of you proceeded to head on over to the school's cafeteria together— where you both now uncomfortably simmered in the heavy silence that lingered between the two of you; awkwardly standing by each other's side whilst waiting for your coffee orders to be made

Considering how you honestly didn't feel all too keen on starting any small talk with the older, you felt rather thankful that at least the sounds from your busy surrounding environment helped make the silence between the two of you far more bearable. And once you both finally got your drinks, a wordless agreement ended up being made as the two of you automatically headed on over to an area that was slightly quieter— soon finding yourselves a free spot where you could settle down and begin planning the assignment; knowing how the faster the both of you were done with this assignment, the faster you would be able to escape this uncomfortable situation

So you took it upon yourself to start leading the discussion in the hopes of making some useful progress at least by the end of today's encounter

Jungkook: –and so that's why I think we should write down a proper plan on how we should shoot each individual scene in a way where we won't lose the message our video portrays. I think it'll be easily lost if we just jump into this blindly, so if we put some effort into thoroughly making sure it's consistent with our message then I think—...

You almost found yourself instinctively glancing up at Taehyung from your notes when you began to feel unsure of if he even paid attention, though swiftly lowered your head just in time before your eyes met—  the action seemingly earning an airy laugh from the male in front of you as he sipped his coffee

A sigh left your lips as you mumbled out a mildly annoyed ''Were you even listening?'' while he slowly put down his coffee cup on the table as he hummed

Taehyung: I did listen and I agree... I just find it amusing how you manage to speak in such a confident manner yet your body language portrays something completely different. I won't bite you if you look at me ya know?

You couldn't help but to slightly roll your eyes at his remark, all whilst snorting softly as you spoke defensively

Jungkook: If you're calling me shy then I can assure you I'm not, now can we please put our focus back onto the assignment? We only have till Friday to complete this sunbae-nim.

Taehyung: Sure thing social butterfly

The slight teasing tone in his voice made you roll your eyes once more, though a breathy laugh did escape your lips as you yourself could admit your actions around him weren't necessarily adding up to your words

Nevertheless, the two of you finally put your focus back onto the assignment— proceeding to spend the next hour and a half planning and noting down ideas on what the scenes hopefully should look like, and most importantly the two of you came up with the message you wanted it to give its audience ''The missing piece''

But getting to that point sure was harder than you both might've expected, as there sure was quite a rough start to it all...

Admittedly it had taken some time to finally agree upon a message and theme since you had stood firm in wanting to work on your B&W videography, while Taehyung on the other hand stood firm in wanting to really play in on giving emotional depth through the video's colors.

Though eventually, you found a way to get what you both wanted by turning it into a story.

Sure it might've brushed a little too close for your liking to the realness of your mono and probe situation, but he doesn't need to know that.
It ended up being a great idea, and what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

Jungkook: Okay so let's roughly go through our plan so far, it begins through us telling a story of (Actor A) where we portray 'The missing piece' through my Monochrome videography, and then after they meet (Actor B) we'll turn the video colorful to signify 'The missing piece' being found through the other individual... Now all we need to do is find ourselves two people willing to be our actors

Taehyung nodded in agreement as he looked at the screen where you had typed down a more detailed description of the different scenes amongst other details accompanied by the storyline, a soft hum leaving his lips as he leaned back in his seat

Taehyung: But should we add saturation slowly throughout the film, or should we just have a scene transition where it changes to color?

Jungkook: Combine the two ideas you just had, on the scene where the actors meet let's make the monochrome surroundings slowly turn saturated. We can easily do that through editing, and I think it'll be the best option to portray or message to the audience.

The older thought about it for a bit, and you could soon begin to make out the smile tugging at his lips as he nodded slowly in approval— evidently seeming to like the suggestion

Taehyung: Good point, Jungkook-sshi I'll admit I wasn't too hopeful about our collaboration at first, but I have a feeling we'll ace this assignment.

You couldn't help but shake your head slightly and giggle softly as you saved the notes, making sure to send Taehyung them as well through to the email he had given you

Jungkook: You may be right sunbae, so make sure you don't forget the times we agreed to meet up and film.

He began packing up his things, but soon turned back towards you as he let out a soft ''Oh right!'' before holding out his hand towards you

Taehyung: Give me your phone

A confused frown painted your face as you hesitantly grabbed your phone and handed it to him, watching him type in something before his phone began to ring, earning an accomplished smile out of him as he handed you your phone back

Taehyung: Save this number, it'll be easier to work if on this if we have a way to stay in contact

Your gaze lowered down to your phone screen which displayed the most recent number that had been called at the very top, a breathy chuckle leaving your lips as you nodded slowly

Even though you had tried your best to avoid him— here you were doing a paired assignment and getting his damn number... Just what are the odds of that happening?

Jungkook: Yeah... I guess you're right

Yet another awkward silence once again seemed to overcome the both of you as neither seemed to be quite sure of what to say next; after all, there was nothing to discuss now that the assignment planning was done thus far. Though the silence didn't last for too long as his name suddenly was called out— followed by the distinct sound of heels approaching your table

?: Taehyung oppa!

He turned his head and smiled whilst standing up, automatically wrapping his arm around her waist as she pecked his cheek while giggling

Taehyung: Oh Haewon-ah you're here, did your class just end?

She nodded, and you fought the urge to gag when she proceeded to put on a cute act whilst looking up at him

Haewon: Mhm, and I'm hungwry... Let's go eat meat for lunch pwease?

While she was certainly beyond beautiful, the cute act just made you cringe and wonder how anyone— let alone Taehyung, could actually stand such things. Though maybe that's just something which only couples could understand and enjoy.

Nonetheless, he nodded earning a satisfied giggle from her as he grabbed his backpack before turning towards you, instantly making you lower your head right back down to avoid eye contact as he spoke

Taehyung: We'll get going then, I'll try to find one actor so you find the other one. See you tomorrow at 4PM

You wordlessly nodded before slowly raising your head— watching the two of them walk away all whilst happily discussing whatever story Haewon started explaining to Taehyung, a soft sigh leaving your lips as you tiredly slumped back into your seat

All you could hope for was that these next 4 days you'd have to meet up would go smoothly so that you could go back to normal...

  - And by normal, you essentially meant strangers.
