【 Jungkook 】

There was a brief pause as you looked up at your best friends through glossy doe eyes; bottom lip quivering as the anxious feeling in your chest wouldn't subdue— not daring to allow yourself to believe they genuinely were okay with you just yet

Hoseok: Gguk what makes you think we'd feel that way about you?

A soft and shaky sigh left your lips as you fidgeted with your hands nervously, voice coming out as a mere whisper whilst you hesitantly spoke up in an attempt to explain what you feared to them

Jungkook: Well as you know I transferred universities after my first year, but I never mentioned why...

They nodded slowly and patiently waited for you to continue— giving soft nods of encouragement which only earned another shaky sigh out of you as you kept your gaze lowered in the hopes of making the subject a little easier to talk about

Jungkook: I don't know if you guys have heard some of the stigma and myths surrounding us monos... But seeing how you guys are so calm still, I'm guessing you haven't

Yoongi: I think I've seen a few posts online, but I never paid any attention to them... I mean, they're called myths for a reason Gguk, but go on?

Hoseok nodded in agreement and you forced a light smile as you also nodded slowly, feeling a little more relieved after hearing they don't seem to blindly trust myths and rumors.

Jungkook: Some think us monos get obsessed with our probe when we find them, and we're often blindly referred to as crazy stalkers and psychopaths who will do anything to be with our probes. There are many false stories and rumors posted online to scare people, which in return leads to a lot of misconceptions and hatred towards us...

You heard how your friends immediately mumbled out soft curses under their breaths as you continued explaining— though you didn't dare to raise your head just yet, in fear of seeing that all too familiar change you've seen in people's eyes before; even if they tried to be understanding and hide their discomfort.

Jungkook: My university and overall academic life had been quiet and normal prior to everything, and while I didn't really have any friends I was still doing well... But when all of the students found out I was a mono after someone had seen it on my student file, everything took a turn for the worse.
Everyone would give me disgusted glares, push me and avoid even sitting near me... They'd yell curses and slurs at me, constantly badmouth me, and essentially treat me like I was a freak.

A forced breathy laugh left your lips as you once again were flooded by all of the horrible memories you had hoped to escape, and an unpleasant shiver ran down your spine after recalling the constant fear you lived in for the last couple of months before your first year was completed

Jungkook: At first it was somewhat harmless pranks, but one day I had overheard some of them discussing how they should steal some bleach from the janitor and throw it into my eyes to essentially ''fix'' the problem... And only a few days later when I was making my way to the cafeteria, my name was called out... Before I knew it a liquid was thrown right at my face which made my eyes sting oh so painfully...

Hoseok: Jungkook...

Jungkook: -I vividly remember how he had crouched down next to me and how they all laughed as he whispered ''Next time it won't be soap water mono, watch your back''

A silent tear rolled down your cheek as you finally raised your head slowly to look at them, forcing a soft smile as you couldn't help but finish it all off by whispering out a shaky ''I'm s-sorry''

Before you could say or do anything more, you were pulled into yet another warm and comforting hug as you heard soft sniffles coming from them both— instantly making you widen your eyes in surprise since you clearly had not expected them to cry like this

Yoongi: W-why are you apologizing to us when in reality it's you who deserves an apology

You tried to blink away your tears as you pulled away from the hug while looking at them, voice trembling lightly as you spoke

Jungkook: I-I just don't want to l-lose you guys... You're the f-first friends I've ever truly had...

Hoseok: Gguk-ah... I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are stuck in this friendship till death due us apart...

The three of you all almost instantly burst into a fit of soft and heartwarming giggles as you wiped your tears while looking at each other

Yoongi: I don't remember signing off on such a marriage-sounding contract, but you know what? Fuck it, friends till death due us apart sounds good.

An indescribable sense of relief finally came over you; knowing you had found yourself two amazing friends for life, and a soft sniffle left your lips whilst you rubbed your teary eyes— giggling softly whilst looking at the two of them in admiration

Jungkook: I was feeling down after finding out who my probe was, but I feel a lot better thanks to you guys...

They both widened their eyes in surprise, visibly getting excited for you as they teasingly nudged your shoulder gently

Hoseok: You did? Where?!

You flashed them a soft smile as you shook your head while laughing lightly, finding their excitement quite cute

Jungkook: He goes to our school, I don't know anything else about him but I'm not going to try to find out either...

Yoongi frowned in confusion as he now leaned back in his seat whilst taking a small sip out of his drink

Yoongi: But why not? Is it because of everything you just told us about Gguk?

Jungkook: Yeah you could say that, though the fact that he has a girlfriend surely came to play an even bigger part in it.

Upon hearing the bad news their shoulders immediately slumped as they let out sighs of disappointment, their excitement disappearing just as fast as it came— somewhat funnily enough ending up looking more bummed out about the news than you did

Jungkook: Hey but to be fair, I was never keen to find my probe anyway. I just momentarily forgot about it all when I got amazed by the colors I briefly saw, but this helped me snap right out of it

Hoseok: So what are you going to do now...?

You flashed them a determined warm smile as you crossed your arms, speaking in a calm manner

Jungkook: That's simple, I'll just avoid him. If I can just avoid all potential interactions with him then there shouldn't be any complications!

  - But maybe that's easier said than done...
