"Time to wake up babe" mum warns me
"Ugh. Can't I just stay in bed?" I moan
"Nope. School's important"
Officers barge into my room and drag my mum out of the house.
---------------------------------------------
I gasp! It was just a dream. *sigh* I miss my mum. I sound like a little toddler on her first day of school, afraid of new surroundings, not used to being left alone in a room full of strangers without my mother with me. Well what am I supposed to do? I am in a zombie apocalypse without any family. Of coarse I miss mum. I tip-toe through the tiny gaps separating the sleeping bodies. Grabbing the wheel of the van, I take a deep breath.
"Time to go. I have a country to save"
As I turn the key, I hear the engine of the vehicle start up. A smile widens across my face. I remember the times when I used to always want to drive. I was always so tempted just to grasp the wheel. Now that I have it, it doesn't feel how I thought it would be. Something's missing. Mum. My foot reaches the petal and I begin to drive down the never ending high way. Looking at the highway, a song pops up in my head which completely suits the situation. I quietly start to sing it.
"I'm on the highway to hell".END OF TEASER.
