Chapter 24: "Well hi there"

~Emma's POV~

THUMP!

"Huh?" I turned on my side to see Kyle lying on the floor. Shit! "Are you okay?!"
"Ugh!" he moans in pain and annoyance
"I am so sorry!"
"Mm-mm"

I gave him a look that made him sigh and walk back over to the bed.

"It's okay. It didn't hurt...much" he murmured the last bit.
"How did it happen? Did I push you? Kick you? Bruise you and you had enough?"
"You didn't do anything. I fell off myself"
I look at him in disbelief.
"Oh" is all I say
"Let's go down stairs"
I just nod.

Down stairs the girls were cooking and the boys were no where to be seen.

"What?" I say, confused.

~Back to Caitlyn's POV~

"What?" Emma says confused
"Good morning sunshines" I smile, enjoying this. Brianna laughs at me and we both laugh together. I notice Kyle's confused face. "The boys are working on the van"

They are still confused so I continue;
"You's slept in"
"Why didn't anyone wake us up" Kyle asks as he does his three buttons at the top his shirt up.
"If you's didn't wake up at the time you's normally do then you's must have been tired"
"Hmph"
"Well there you go"

Kyle makes his way outside and Emma to the kitchen.

"So what are we making?" she asks
"Waffles. They had some. We also found some ingredients we can use to make a sauce to go over it"
"Alright, let's get started"
"Yeah"

"Jackie, do your thing"
She skips childly over to the door.
"FOR ALL THE BOYS EXCEPT THE FARMERS, GET INSIDE FOR DINNER YOU PRICKS! FOR THE FARMERS, BREAKFAST IS SERVED!"

I roll my eyes at her and she chuckles.

"Are you going to insult them every time?"
"Yes"

I shake my head in disapproval and place the plates on the table. The guys follow in and take their seats.

"Aye, that's my seat!" Jonathan yells at Coen
"Get the hell over it!" Shayla slaps him.
"Hey hey hey! Stop it! Just take a goddamn seat!" I shout at them and they all listen, though not without sighs and huffs. Ugh...

"Do you like it?" Emma asks politely
"Yeah it's nice" Kyle smiles
"*sigh*" I roll my eyes
"What?"
"Nothing..." I trail off as I see a figure coming towards the farm.
"Guys!" My eyes widen and everyone turns to see what I am looking at before widening their own eyes. Zombie!

Kyle jumps up and his glass of water is knocked over. He bends down to pick up the gun and aims. Window. I get up and scroll the window open. He props his gun out and steadies it on the sill. The figure, still coming towards us, holds it's hands up. What?!

"Don't shoot!" I hear it call out to us.
"A human?" I stutter.

It has been a while since we've seen someone who is alive. We're used to getting up and shooting brains out of corpses, but this isn't a corpse. This is real. The male lowers his hands as he staggers towards us. He has curly, thick brown hair. Sort of long. He is wearing a black top and Canterbury's. He places the flat-cap that was once in his hand on his head.

"Hello?" he peers through the door.
"Who are you" Kyle says, though it doesn't sound like a question. Too aggravated.
"My name is Mitch. My friend Kian is coming. He was just doing a piss"

Like we needed to know that...

"Right...Well what are you doing here?"
"Ah, Kyle" The farmer gives him a warning look before going back to Mitch. "We don't have anymore room for people"

Kian walks through the door.

"Yes we do!" Brianna squeals

She looks at me and I squeal at her to. Matt gives me a pissed off look. My squeal dies slowly to a frown. Really?!
This sucks...

"So where exactly are they going to sleep?" The farmer asks Brianna
"Well, I have a double bed so-"
"What about the other boy?"
"You have a couch"

The farm boy hesitates before breathing out a large sigh.
"Fine"

"Yay! Ah I mean, yay for you because you get a place to stay" Brianna smiles awkwardly
"So which one of you boys are sleeping on the lounge?"
"Kian can sleep with me!" Brianna suggests clearly.

My eyes roll across the room and meet Jonathan's shocked expression.

"What about me?!" he shouts angrily.

Everyone looks at him and he storms off. Oh crap!
