The Endless Loop (Little Nightmares 2, Mono x Six)

Chapter Twentyfour: Hiding

Mono carefully made his way over to the next shelf with Six following close behind him. He jumped up, and grabbed the edge of it, before pulling himself up. Through the small space, he could see the doctor messing with the body of one of the patients. He watched as the doctor quite literally popped the patients head off, before going to the back of the room.

Mono cringed, before reaching out and grabbing Sixs hand. He placed a finger against his lips and met her gaze. Six nodded, and Mono quietly jumped down from the shelf onto the other side. He and Six then quietly made there way across the room. Just as the doctor started to turn back around, Mono made it to a box sitting in the middle of the room. He and Six crouched down behind it, and Mono listened as the doctor went back to playing with the lifeless patient.

He waited for a few minutes, until he heard the ceiling creak loudly. He peered out from his spot behind the box to see the doctor returning his attention to a shelf in the back of the room. Tightening his grip on Sixs hand, he quietly, yet quickly, began making his way across the room once again.

As soon as they reached a hole in the wall, Mono ducked, and carefully crawled through with Six right behind him. Now that they were almost completely hidden from sight underneath some beds, Mono turned to face Six.

"You doing okay?" He whispered. Six rolled her eyes.

"No, I'm literally dying. You're dragging a near-lifeless body around." She replied sarcastically. She gave him an amused smile, but Mono could feel her hand trembling against his.

He smiled, before turning, and peering out from his spot underneath the bed. The doctor suddenly entered the room noisily, and stopped right above the bed that Mono and Six were crouched underneath.

Mono held his breath and waited as the doctor messed with the body laying on the bed. Several quiet seconds passed- and then Mono finally started to breath again as the doctor moved on. As soon as the doctors back was turned to him, he carefully lead Six out from underneath the bed.

Together, he and Six quietly crept to the next set of beds. As soon as they made it, Mono watched as the doctor went to the very back of the room and started messing with the lifeless bodies over there. He could make out the shape of a few toys laying on the ground nearby.

I'll need one of those, He reminded himself.  He lead Six out from under the bed, and he carefully made his way across the room.

Please dont turn around, please dont turn around. He thought as he kept his eye on the doctor. Just before the doctor turned back around, he and Six managed to duck underneath a bed.

"Why are we going this way?" Six whispered. Mono hesitated for a moment, before pointing to the door at the other end of the room.

"I need to hit the button to get it to open," He explained as quietly as he could. "So I'm going to grab something that I can throw at the button."

"Oh."

Mono offered Six a small smile, before turning his attention back to the doctor. He was still busy messing with one of the lifeless bodies across from them. Seeing that the doctor was distracted, Mono carefully crept out from underneath the bed, and lead Six to the next one. Once they made it, Mono looked back out to see the doctor making his towards the bed they were underneath. As soon as the doctor was above them, Mono held his breath and waited. He could feel Sixs hand start to tremble again.

This time, the doctor took forever. Mono was starting to lose his patience, and he was getting more and more nervous.

What the hell is this guy doing? He thought. As soon as he did, the doctor finally stopped messing with the body above them, and Mono watched as he crawled back across the ceiling to the other side of the room.
