Mono swallowed as he examined the patient on the far end of the room.

I forgot that this part would happen so soon.. He thought, before mentally face-palming. He sighed, and limped over to the lever.

Let's just get this over with. My legs going to hurt so much worse after this... He thought miserably. He jumped up carefully, before pulling the lever down. The light, as usual, began flickering. Mono then turned, and watched the patient expectantly. When the light flickered off, he could make out the patients wobbly movement in the darkness. When the lights flickered on, it would stop moving.

"Alright, brace yourself," He mumbled to himself, before pointing his flashlight at the patient and waiting. The light above flickered a few more times, before it suddenly sparked, and went out completely. Mono then waited for a moment, before turning the flashlight off and peering into the darkness.

As soon as the light was out, the patient began walking towards him- slowly at first, before breaking out into a run. Just before it reached him, he turned the flashlight back on and flinched backwards. Now that it was motionless and no longer blocking the door, he limped over to the open space, while continuing to face the patient and shine the light on it.

I'm going to have to run at one point. He thought. This is going to be awful.

As soon as he reached the space in the door, he turned away from the patient and slipped through. When he glanced back, he watched the patient run towards the door, before reaching through the small space. Of course, it was much too big to fit through. Mono frowned, before making his way through the dark hall.

At least I know which patients will move and which wont. He reminded himself. He then made a mental note to not get distracted. As he turned the corner to enter another hallway, he tried to walk without limping. It still definitely hurt- every time he stepped down, a sharp pain would rocket through his leg. He winced, and started to limp again.

...What if I cant run at all? I figured I'd be fine before, but now... He thought. He brushed the thoughts aside, and tried to keep himself calm as he made his way down the hall, and past the motionless patients he knew he didnt have to worry about. As soon as he came across a broken door, he carefully slipped in, and squinted. This room was much darker than the hallway just outside, and it was a lot harder to see.

He carefully limped through the room, while shining the light on different areas of the room. Just up ahead, he could make out a large group of the patients standing motionlessly.

...Oh boy. He thought. He carefully made his way forwards, while keeping his light on one specific patient. But he knew that it would only take care of one of them.

Let's see if I can pull this off without running.

He quickened his pace, despite the ache in his leg, and as soon as he reached the other patient, he whirled around and turned the light from the other patient to this one. It had just started to reach towards him, but once the light hit it, it fell motionless. As he backed up towards the bed, he could make out the shape of the other patient. It was starting to run directly towards him. He turned the light onto it, before quickly sliding underneath the bed, and staring out. Both of the patients stopped right in front of the bed, before falling motionless once again.

Mono sighed, before turning his back to them, and climbing out onto the other side. He carefully made his way into another crowd of patients. He knew what to expect from this- there were about three patients that would come after him. Or was it four..? He really hoped it wasnt four. As soon as he spotted one of the patients moving, he whirled around and shone the light on it. Keeping the light directly on the patient, he carefully backed away, while watching the other ones nearby.
