Mari's and Oizys scent disappeared here and a new one appeared. Everyone else's scent was here as well. I looked to my side and there was a drop. At the bottom there was lava.
"It's hot here." Asurmaru complained.
Me and Aegis just stared at her. There was a bloody hand print on the wall at the other side. I suddenly felt an overwhelming wave of fear and pain wash over me. It wasn't coming from an Angel or Demon. I collapsed as it grew stronger and stronger until it suddenly disappeared with nothing of it left. Everything suddenly went black and there was a bright light behind me. I turned around and there was a man standing in front of me.
"This again?" I turned around.
Another dark figure showed up and walked up to the other. They shook each other's hands and the new one leaned in to the other's ear. The figure nodded and they became one. The figure started heading towards the light.
"Wait!" I called.
I took a step forward and the light grew brighter, forcing me to close my eyes.
"Help us." I heard a voice combined with what sounded like Mari's.
The light died down and I opened my eyes. I was in front of the boulder I destroyed. There was a bloody hand print as well. Monsters were coming at me from behind. I broke the boulder again and went inside. I closed the entrance as soon as Aegis and Asurmaru walked in. We ran to the light up ahead. Everything was the exact same when I first entered.
"It's hot here." Asurmaru complained.
Aegis gave Asurmaru the same look from before. I went over to the wall with the bloody hand print. I felt the overwhelming wave of fear and pain once again until it disappeared. Nothing happened afterwards, the world didn't go dark. I cut the boulder into pieces. There was a faint light up ahead. I smelled smoke as well.
"A fire?" I thought.
"Asurmaru, Aegis, this way." I pointed at the passageway.
I looked at Asurmaru's hand, she was holding some papers.
"Hold on, can I see that for a second?" She nodded and handed it to me.
I looked at the first page. It matched the circle that was drawn on the ground in blood.
"Blood of caster, required." Was written on the corner.
"So is this Oizys blood? How long has she had the circle ready?" I looked at the next page.
"Do you have to chant these words?" I memorized the chant and moved on to the last page.
I read and memorized everything on the page, a single line out of the whole page was the only thing that caught my eye.
"If the chanting is resumed after being incomplete the ritual will not be fully complete and one participant will lose some of their memory." It read.
"So if they managed to interrupt it even for a moment then we will just have to buy time for the ritual to undo itself. I hope that's what happened." I sighed.
"No it has to be the case. Mari and Oizys were separate so that means Audrey must've interrupted it somehow." I thought.
"But that might mean Oizys might've taken more precautions." I looked at the pages and tossed them to the side.
They floated down and burned in the lava.
"Should you have done that?" Aegis asked.
"It'll be fine." I responded. I turned around and ran through the hallway.
