"Do you have any maps I could borrow?" I ask, hopefully. My hosts are only somewhat helpful. Cally is bringing me snacks and nicotine patches and trying to persuade me not to go. Helios is giving us a PowerPoint entitled: "Why you will never convince Dumbass Kids not to do Dumbass things: a Powerpoint Specifically designed for Rhea and her little monsters with video footage of said monsters doing dumbass things". Right now Cally is getting it because she thought she could convince me not to go. The video footage mentioned appears to be satellite footage because it's just the tops of people's heads. It's very boring. Helios narrates it very sarcastically giving almost no information what so ever, so that's an upside.

"Sure," Cally hops up to get them.

"I—kind of don't know where we are," I admit.

"On my island. You are on my island."

"Yeah---in relation to where I was supposed to meet my dad," I clarify.

"Here," Cally returns with maps.

Oh good. The island I am on is drawn on with Sharpie. That bodes well. Not.

"I'm trying to get back there—Minos industries," I say, tapping the point on the map, "I came from there," I point to the island containing the Labyrinth.

"And how are you going to get there?" the man asks, coming over.

"Fly---my jetpack is solar-powered," I explain.

"What a wonderful child."

"Be quiet, dad----didn't you crash before?" she asks.

"Yeah that's cause it was getting dark---but we're still farther than I was meant to be," I sigh, "I don't know if I trust the engine."

"Solar power will get you anywhere, my boy."

"No, I know---I'm concerned about the life of the engine," I say, "It puts a strain on it---going that long—I can't get more than twenty minutes of flight and I'm a good half hour away as the crow flies, plus wind----" maybe my dad isn't always right. "Do you have any scrap metal I could have—and look at?"

"Is this in the pursuit of getting you OFF my island?"

"Yes sir, it is---I don't know if I could ever pay you back," because I am really never coming back here ever.

"Your absence from my life is payment enough, my child, come you can have access to my workshop."

"Dad! I want him to stay!"

"I noticed and don't care!"

"Thank you, both," I say, following him as she follows us.

"Don't thank me, just leave."
