Thief
"Why are you pouting lately?" the man in black asks, cuffing my head as I sit by his bookcase eating a cake his nice wife gave me.
I glare and say nothing. My mother has me chained up with those awful chains. And I haven't a cow anymore. They took Todd away. And I can't go anywhere up there. Just down here. So I can't collect souls. So soon this man in black won't like me just like everyone else and he won't even let me keep Cookie in his yard like he does now.
"Don't feel like talking? Who's this one you dropped off the other day?" he points to the man I tied up and left in the corner. "Why not bring him to Charon?"
"He wouldn't---wouldn't---wouldn't take him. NO—no coin," I say. I had coins but I didn't feel like giving them away.
"Ah right. That greedy charlatan. All right. Well, what's this fellow in for?" the man in black asks.
"His name's---his name's ---name's Minos. I think. He took---took—took people kidnapped and---he-built a whole maze. And fed them to his—his monster. Then this guy---who he kidnapped---kidnapped beat---beat him to death—with—with a stick" I finally get out, biting my knuckle.
"Really? Did you now?" the man in black stares at our prisoner, "That's completely despicable, heartless, and all around vile. Would you like a job?"
