"After someone hurts you, you're not the same anymore."
"So how are things with Logan?" Emily asked as she blonde sat next to Rose, across the circular table from Kelley and Alex as they enjoyed breakfast together before their hard work began.
"Fine." O'Hara shrugged, mindlessly stirring her coffee.
"Liar." Alex frowned. "What's going on?"
"I don't know." Kelley sighed. "We aren't talking as much, she's been spending more of her time talking with Melanie and Leonie."
"Her exes, right?" Rose asked, the topic of the throuple always piqued her interest.
"Yeah." Kelley nodded, ignoring the small chuckle that escaped Emily's mouth as she glances at Rose.
"Do you think she's distancing herself on purpose?" Alex asked, watching her best friend carefully. Kelley only shrugged, choosing instead to focus on her coffee. "I think you two should talk about your issues."
"It was months ago, Alex. I thought we were over it." Kelley sighed, finally looking up to look at the Cali Native.
"Well, obviously you're not, because you're barely speaking to her. If you want any kind of relationship with Logan then you need to talk to her and clear the air, and of course apologize for hitting her."
"Has she spoke to you about it?" Emily asked, having heard about the slapping incident much like the rest of the National Team.
"Not yet. She's in England right now with the Canada team, our schedules haven't synced up in a while. It's like when I do call she just doesn't answer."
Alex, Rose and Emily shared a look of unease and pity as Kelley once again focused on her cofffee.

It was early evening in London when Logan and Jessie made it back to the hotel that the Canada National Team were holed up inside during their short stay in England. They were due to play England in two days, the home team having just played Germany that day.
"Any plans for tonight?" Jessie asked, bumping her shoulder against Logan's as they rode the elevator to their floor. The younger girl was just finishing her ice cream that she begged her Captain to buy her.
Logan rolled her eyes at the teasing grin Jessie sent her, "You know I have plans."
"Oh, right." Jessie dragged out in faux realization.
"Mhm." Logan shook her head in amusement. Her Canada teammates would usually ask about Leo and Mel.
"The hot duo that want to spend time with you." Jessie smiles before sighing almost dreamily, "Lucky you."
"Alright, child. Enough about them, I think it's time you went to bed."
"We're almost the same age," Jessie groans but doesn't argue against getting some sleep as a yawn slips from her mouth.
The two step off the elevator and walk down the hallway to their shared hotel room. It was something Logan had noticed, that recently she had been sharing a room with Jessie more than she had with anyone else. She didn't question it though, she enjoyed the brunette's company, even if she was a little chaotic.
The two turned the corner and immediately set eyes upon two women waiting at their door - one patiently and the other not so much. The brunette was smiling fondly at the blonde who was beginning to lose patience as she paced in front of Logan's door. Turning back to pace the steps she had just taken, the blonde cast her eyes on the arrival of the two Canadian's and pointed them out to the smiling brunette.
Melanie's smile widen as she made eye contact with Logan and began to run to the blonde, "Bärchen!"
Leonie could only chuckle as she watched her girlfriend greet Logan, as she herself welcomed Jessie back to the hotel.
"We thought you got lost." The Arsenal defender smiled, Melanie finally let go of the Orlando player just enough for the two blonde's to hug each other, the first time in months but for both women it felt like years.
"And miss my time with you?" Logan asked quietly as she wrapped her arms around Leonie's neck, holding her closer and refusing to let go too quickly. "Not a chance."
"I'm so fucking single." Jessie grumbled as she rolled her eyes at the three and opened the hotel room door with her keycard before walking into the room and falling face first onto her bed.
"You are welcome to join us for dinner, Jessie." Mel smiled at the still grumbling Canadian in hopes of making her happy, but Leo and Logan knew that the invitation was sincere.
"And feel even more single? Yeah, no." Jessie complained before sitting up on her bed and facing the still softly smiling Mel, "Thanks, though."
"If you change your mind, you're always welcome." The brunette German insisted before telling Logan she and Leo would wait in the lobby for her to get ready.
"You're lucky." Jessie smiled. "I wish my exes were that nice."
"I know, they're both incredible." Logan returned her friend's smile as she quickly changed into fresh clothes.
"Don't stay out too late, and use protection." Jessie laughed as Logan walked to the door and flipped her off before leaving the room.

"Is she still not answering?" Alex asks as she flops down on Kelley's bed while the defender sits at the desk.
"No." O'Hara grumbles, dropping her phone unceremoniously onto the surface. She opens her laptop, deciding to call Logan through that instead.
"You might want to back off for a while, you're starting to come across as—"
"As what?" Kelley pivoted in her seat and shot Alex a scolding look
"Nothing, completely normal." Alex replied, her eyebrows shooting up in surprised as Kelley's defensive stance. "Good luck."
Kelley simply ignored the brunette and continued to hit up Logan through Skype and Zoom until the call was finally answered.
"Would you stop that incessant ringing, it's ruining my Netflix viewing!" A very agitated Jessie answered the call. Her anger only slightly dissipating when she set her eyes on a now-guilty-looking Kelley. "Logan isn't here."
"I can see that now."
Jessie didn't know how to reply to the woman, she was clearly desperate to speak to Logan but she didn't have the heart to tell the American that the blonde was out at dinner with her...could she call them exes? They certainly didn't act like they no longer had feelings for Logan and vice-versa.
"Uh...the face you're seeing here isn't real, please leave a message after the beep?"
Alex was the only one to laugh, which didn't sit well with a flustered Kelley, but the Pride player had a feeling she knew why Jessie looked uncomfortable, and it wasn't because she was talking to O'Hara. Alex knew that Logan would be meeting up with Mel and Leo during her time in England, she had a gut feeling that Kelley knew that, too and it's probably why the Georgia born girl was so desperate to talk to Logan, in hopes that the blonde wouldn't fall back into a relationship with the German duo before the two had a chance to clear the air.
But maybe she was too late.
