Fan-Fucking-Summer!
Chapter 8
After doing my business quicker than usual and make my bag ready for my 1st day, I can just hope that it doesn't get jinxed and be ruined in any sort of way. I check my bag one more time while I hear no sound in the background making me suspicious of Ivy's action. She would be hell-bent on shouting and standing on my head right now, but she isn't. Again, Suspicious. Looking in the bag, it's filled with my pair of clean clothes to which I can change after my classes, my sipper, face wipes, piles of cookies boxes for both me and the children, and my dance materials. Satisfied, I make my way downstairs passing the kitchen but instantly stop to curiously look at what actually is happening in front of me.
Ishaan is sitting on the aisle of the table with his legs hanging down, talking to Ivy with his best ever smile plastered on his ugly face. On the other hand, Ivy is sitting in front of him on the stool looking up to have a better view of his face, eating the strawberries that I have quite well hidden in my secret spot for emergency and blushing all while listening to the words Ishaan just keep blabbering about. It's a weird feeling to watch them being so close and not screaming or hitting each other like past times, but it also feels a little good to see both my best friend and brother happy. I guess it will figure itself out with time. Still oblivious of my presence leaning against the kitchen entrance, Ivy laughed loudly making Ishaan smile just by looking at her.
Man, he is whipped!
I cleared my throat to make my presence known and walked towards the fridge not making it obvious in any way that I just heard their cheesy flirting and bend down to grab an apple. Noticing my presence, how I now am walking towards Ivy, they wipe their smiles out of their faces quickly and act as if the scenario from before never happened.
"Ivy, getting late are we?" I say and move my eyes towards Ishaan giving him a sly smile.
"Ya, you guys should leave, and I will see you in the evening Cookie!" he says but the look on his face on the last sentence with his stare tells me clearly how it means both ways. I give me a hesitant nod and turn towards the main door.
Ivy and I make our way towards the car, greeted Mr. Suri as he drives us to the Charity house. This time in less than 10 minutes we are standing in front of the main gate, making our way towards the main building. It wasn't surprising to see that everything from the party is now nowhere to be seen and each corner of the backyard is cleaned topless. The workers working hard and cleaning all of it overnight is really appreciable.
On our way towards classes, we were greeted by many other teachers who also are a part of the charity house and teach the students as their part-time job or as their full job. Ivy takes the turn right towards the painting classes knowing how good she is in that and I take the left where the big hall greets me with curtains already out of the big glass windows way. The dance room's fragrances fill my sense letting a smile make its way on my face involuntarily. Just as I enter the class, I am engulfed with many small hands and heads wrapped around legs with some heads pressed on my upper leg. Yes, I am quite tall, and I am proud of the 5'7 distance from my head to the ground. I hug all of them back and smile thinking how beautiful my life is with these girls around me. I start taking the class with girls on one of the songs by Taylor Swift.
