Chapter 18
After getting informed by Ivy that it was Jade who planned everything that happened this morning, I rushed towards the instruments room where I guessed he must be with the children.
Even though I was still a little peachy for what he said to me that day, I couldn't help but understand his side of the story too. Knowing that his choice of words was still inappropriate, he wouldn't have imagined this reaction out of me if he knew even a little part of my past. That would have made him a little reasonable and responsible for my actions.
Keeping all those past emotions aside, I walked inside the room where I saw some children shouting, some crying, some fighting some laughing. In short, the class is a mess. I went further in to see Jade sitting down on one of the chairs in front of the room where his one hand is on his ear, blocking the noise and the other on his phone, typing furiously.
It took a second to gain everybody's attention while standing on the podium and strictly staring at all children. Everybody knew that I could be both soft and strict if I wanted to be, and seeing this side of me right now, all the children go quiet in seconds and seat back to their allotted places quickly.
It took a whole minute for Jade to notice the silence that resolved in class, to which he stands up from his chair and looks at all the children with wide eyes, trying to perceive what happened in that one minute, still unaware of my presence. Looking at all the children once again he suddenly turned around and came face to face with me. His expression changed from confused to shocked to back to confused. I so want to laugh out loud at his change in expression which is adorable at each step, but stop myself from doing that. He just looked puzzled and then finally speak out while looking at me again,
"I am confused." He says in a baffled tone
"I can see that." I said smiling a little, trying to control my laughter. He could finally see my playful reaction on his dumb folded reaction as after all he did was just roll his eyes bring his one eyebrow to go up a little bit.
"How?" was all he asked and I nod my head in understanding.
"Perks of living with children for the past five years I guess." I say with a smile again. I can see him smile too on this but before he could say something in return, the twins and one more guy with them enter the classroom.
"Who wants chocolates?" in the loudest voice Ethan asks. Perceiving the name of chocolates, all children run towards the boys and take their time in choosing what they want. This time I am the one being confused, so I turned to look towards Jade, finding him already looking at me with an amused expression. This made a blush creep on my face and quickly look away from his stare. After a little while, Aiden came to us with chocolates in his hand. He offered me one but before I could answer him, Jade spoke up,
