What Are You Hidding?

Chapter 28

I woke up with the sunlight coming through the window whose curtains I forgot to blind. I look beside myself to see it's just 6:00 am. This jetlag is killing me. Knowing that I probably won't be sleeping right now, I get up and make my way to the kitchen, knowing that nobody would be up so early on a vacation. I reach the kitchen, without switching on the lights, I make my way to the fridge and take a bottle of water, and sipping directly through it, not thinking of house manners up so early to get a glass or something.

I look outside the window to see the beautiful sun rays coming in through the window, giving me a clear view of the beach, making my hair fly a little out of the place. I close my eyes, inhaling the fresh air, feeling everything in me go warm and complete. Nature is something that has always soothed me in my darkest moments, and nothing could be better when it accompanies the summer rays and mix them to convert everything to pure and golden.

I am broken out of the trance when I hear a sneeze echoing in the room. I see behind me to notice another presence which I surely don't want to have near me. Jade is standing at the entrance of the kitchen, with his hand on his mouth, covering it. Him being shirtless, which is surprisingly not surprising, remembering I have only seen him once like that. His tattoos glowing in the morning rays hitting directly on the right places of his body.

Well right now I don't really know if these rays are helping me to the best or not. I cannot help but stare at this beautiful aesthetic in front of me when all I want to do is ignore him as he did to me.

But well, I can't help it.

"Well, I just came to-" but before he could end the sentence, I was already making my way out of the room. What stopped me in the middle was his hand gripping my wrist, not tightly but enough to make me stop. Without looking at him I said,

"Jade leave me."

"I am sorry." He whispers with a sigh. I bring my gaze from behind me to look at him with a hard stare.

"Don't you think it's too late for that?" he holds my gaze with the same tired eyes he had in the plane. He opened his mouth to speak say but closed it at the same time, not having words to explain me.

"Jade do you have something to say to me?" I give in, wanting to end whatever this is going on and bringing both of us out of this misery. He stayed silent, still staring at me at the same. I tried understanding him through his eyes which for me only said later and I was tired of later after he kissed me on the plane, thinking we were one step close now but maybe not. I freed my hands from his grasp and put a little distance between us. Facing him I spoke again,

"Listen Jade, I know you want me to wait for you, and trust me I will if that's what it takes for you to open up to me but till then, don't confuse me with your actions. You kiss me at one point and then push me with your words the other. I am not a ragged doll that you can play with Jade. You want to tell me; I am here but till then just let me go from whatever this is between us. I cannot handle it again." I say rubbing my eyes and looking at him to see defeat and confusion in his eyes, repeating in my mind what I said, I remember saying again. Shit, even if Jade noticed it, I am glad he is not in the state of asking questions from me.
