Chapter 60
"W-what do you mean Jade, but it's so soon." I was flabbergasted. My mind felt like a spiral. It was soo soon, soon enough to not do a lot of things. Soon enough to not face all sides of each other yet, not diving into the goods and bad's of each. Too soon to everything and the worst to think that I am not prepared of letting him go, not this soon.
"Hey, hey Val, I will be back soon. I promise-" I cut him before he could say more.
"When? When will you be back? Do you have a date, one week, two-week, one month when?" Maybe I am overreacting but it's just the unwillingness in me that is stopping me from boarding the decision that I am not sure of.
He stays silent and I take that time to calm myself down. I shouldn't be like this, I should support him and hear him first. He looks truly hurt and disappointed. I realize a sigh and move closer to him strangling his lap again when his hands out of instinct wrap around my ass and lower back to support me. I use my hands to make him look up and when he does, I pass a small smile and stroke his jaw.
"I am sorry, I lost my cool, I shouldn't have-" He shakes his cutting me off and lift my other free hand and kiss each knuckle slowly taking his time to savor the moment.
"You shouldn't be. I dropped the news unexpectedly when I shouldn't have, not when you are still trapped in these white rooms. Believe me, I don't want to go either but...... maybe it's the last chance I will get to make things right with the only person who made my peaceful nights sleepless. My brain conflicted with my heart that I shouldn't set things proper after everything I have been through because of him, but then I thought, what will you say if you were there with me while he visited. And I let you decide the choices that I am too afraid to make." He shares all while looking at me in the eye.
I smile up and raise my hands to untangle his unruly hair letting him continue what he has been trapping inside for the longest time. He hums in satisfaction and squeezes my hand continuing,
"I thought of how you will think first and then after weighing all options you will answer with a firm voice to maybe give him a chance one last time. The only family that I physically have right now shouldn't go to waste because of my childish thinking. I want my family back, I always did and now that I have finally a chance should I really let it go all because of my vengeance? That's what I thought and I had my answer." I nod my head and look at him, deep in my thought.
He taps my ass twice, bringing me back and him looking at me with meaningful eyes. He nods for me to let out my overthinking and I sigh placing my head against and closing my eyes to avoid facing the disappointment.
