Antonio helped me out of my dress, he knew something was up because I didn't thank him like I usually did when he helped me out of my dresses. " What's wrong?" Antonio asked, hanging up my dress in the closet. " Nothing," I said calmly. I picked out an off the shoulder white long sleeve shirt and some loose black pajama shorts. I was about to walk into the bathroom and get changed when Antonio softly grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. " What?" I asked. Antonio looked down at me, " you barely talked to me the entire way here, and now we're aging as if you don't know me." " What do you mean?" I asked, just wanting to get to bed. Antonio stepped closer, " something happened, and you're not telling me." " I'm fine," I said. Antonio stared at me, he let go of my arm. I turned with my clothes in hand and walked into the bathroom. Antonio sighed, and ran his fingers through his hair.

About ten minutes later, I walked out of the bathroom to see Antonio still in his suit and tie. " We need to talk," Antonio said walking up to me. " I'm going to bed," I said, ignoring his comment. Antonio stepped aside, blocking my way. " We're in this together," Antonio said. I stared at his chest before looking up at him. " You're going to tell me what's wrong," Antonio began to say. " Or what?" I asked staring into his eyes. Suddenly, the question I've been thinking this whole time hit me right in the head.

" Do you still love Sophia?" I asked, feeling the tears begin to build up. Antonio frowned, " do you even want to marry me?" I asked. " What the hell are you talking about?" Antonio's voice sounded both stern and concerned. " Your family," I said beginning to feel my eyes water. " Everyone has told me that I don't deserve to be with you," I said. " Everyone has told me countless times that I'm just using you for money." Antonio's jaw tightened, obviously unaware of the gossip going around. " Don't listen to them," Antonio said calmly. " I can't fucking ignore them!" I yelled. I bit my lip, trying to calm myself down but it only made tears slip don my face. " Antonio stared at me, I knew he was pissed off at everyone, but I knew he ached seeing me like this. I swallowed the thick lump forming in my throat, " do you know how much shit I hear because I'm with you?" Antonio sighed, " you don't because everyone worships you," I said. " Everyone is terrified to give you their opinions because they're afraid of what you'd do to them." My eyes stung, my chest was heavy, and my legs hurt from the heels I had been wearing. " But to everyone else, I'm nothing." Antonio shook his head, " don't say that." " It's true," I said as tears slipping down my face. " Apparently I don't love you, apparently I'm just using you and sleeping with you for the fun of it." " Stop," Antonio said calmly but sternly. " You have no idea what I go through because people are scared to admit how they feel about me, to you," I sobbed.

My vision was glossy, I felt like crumbling onto the ground and staying there forever. " Antonio I can't," I paused as my hands began to shake and my body began to ache. Without hesitation, Antonio slid his hand around the back of my neck and pulled me into a tight hug. " I don't give a shit what people say about us," Antonio said calmly. " You are mine and I promise you, I am never leaving you." I cried into Antonio's shoulder, he kissed my head and kept me close to his warm frame. " You are mine Thalia and I am not letting you go, no matter what my family says about us or how hard they try to separate us, you are mine and don't ever forget that." The more I cried, the more Antonio reassured me with his soothing promises.

We stood there for what felt like hours, Antonio held me close to him. My face buried into his shoulder, my arms against his chest. Antonio held the back of my head, his other arms secured around me. With Antonio, everything felt peaceful. With Antonio, he was my safe haven.
