The BAU was busing with energy. It seems the serial killers decided to 'take some time off and go to therapy' as Garcia likes to say, resulting in us getting a head start to a long weekend. We all pretended it had nothing to do with Candice flying in later tomorrow, but who we're we to say no to a few days off. I asked Will if I could have Henry this Saturday, even though it was technically his weekend he agreed knowing of all the challenges we've been facing recently. Co-parenting with him wasn't the easiest thing, but I was grateful he agreed to let me spend time with him. I watched as Emily stepped out of her new office, a few files in her hand "Alright guys," She said, everyone turning their attention to the new chief. Emily had always been the kind of person who could silence a room with her presence alone, and her new title did nothing but boost that power. "No one is authorized to step foot in this building until late Monday morning. Be safe, and as Luke likes to say, 'Don't add to or subtract from the population'" Luke blushed a little when everyone laughed. "Seriously, I do not want to have to bail any of you out on Monday. Go have fun!" The team smiled and said their goodbyes, excited to get the weekend started. Emily made her way over to my desk dropping off the stack of files.

"You excited to see her?" I asked leaning against my desk. Emily smiled shyly "Honestly, I'm nervous... Rossi has invited all of us to his place Sunday night so she can meet everyone. I just want you all to like her." "Emily, as long as she's treating you right, there's nothing to worry about!" I said trying to fake a smile. Emily's eyes met mine as she reached around me for a hug "Have a good weekend, tell Henry I said hi." "I will, see you Sunday!" I gathered the rest of my things and made my way to the elevator. I drove home quickly to change out of my work clothes before hitting the road again, eager to pick Henry up. I made it to the door of Wills apartment and knocked. "Momma!" Yelled my boy as he opened the door, wrapping his arms around my waist "Hey little man, you ready?" I asked as Will walked to the door, Henry's bag in tow. "If you don't mind, I need him back around dinner tomorrow. He has a birthday party Sunday morning." I nodded "Got it, let me know if anything changes. Thank you." Will gave me a quick nod, handing Henry's bags over before giving him a hug. "Alright let's go!" I said turning my attention to our son.

The next morning, I woke up early to make pancakes for Henry. He told me all about the girl whose birthday party he was going to on Sunday and I couldn't contain my smile knowing my son had his first crush. "She sounds like a great friend Bud." I said as he helped me clear the table "Alright, go change. You've got a soccer game to get to!" I followed him up the stairs and into my bedroom. I stripped off my pjs from the night before and threw on some shorts and a tight t-shirt. I decided to skip the makeup, 'it was going to be hot today', I thought justifying it. I was finishing up as Henry ran into my room jumping on my bed "Come on momma lets go!" he yelled excitedly. I scrunched up my nose and smiled at him "Okay baby lets go."

Watching Henry kick ass on the field was something I enjoyed way too much, thankful he took after me when it came to his love of sports. I admit I may have ingrained it into him early on, having him kick around a ball as soon as he started walking but at least it hasn't backfired on me yet. With any luck he'll continue on to get a full ride to college like I did. My heart filled with joy as I watched my kid make the winning shot. After high fiving everyone on both teams he ran over to me "Good job kiddo!" I said lifting him into a hug. "Thanks momma" We joined the rest of the kids and parents at a pizza buffet near the field to celebrate the victory, afterwards I took just the two of us for ice cream. We drove home and I listened as Henry went on about his new friend. 'If she breaks his heart, I'll kill her' I thought briefly. "Alright go shower, you are ripe!" I said as we pulled into the driveway. He jumped out of the car and ran inside leaving me to unload his gear "Hey! Make sure you throw your clothes in the laundry!" I yelled after him.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at home watching a move, we both ended up dozing off halfway into it. I was pulled from sleep suddenly when my phones alarm went off, reminding me that I needed to take Henry back to his dads. I hit the snooze button and looked down at my sleeping kid, cuddled up on my chest. He looked so peaceful, I wished he'd stay this small and innocent forever. The alarm went off a second time, pulling me from my daydream. I woke Henry gently "Hey, wake up bud. We've gotta get you back to your dads." He nodded, still half asleep as he drug himself off the couch and back upstairs to get his bag. I rushed up stairs and changed out my shorts for a pair of sweatpants. It may have been hot this afternoon but we we're well into September and it started getting cold towards the evenings. I walked out finding Henry sitting on the stairs outside his room "Did you get everything?"

After double checking his bag I helped him into the car. I thought Henry would fall asleep again on the ride over, but I was proven wrong when he demanded I play Disney songs and sing along with him the entire way over. We made it to Will's, and I grabbed Henry's stuff before walking him to the door. I was a bit taken back when a woman I didn't recognize came to the door. Henry gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek before running past the woman and into the house, excited for a project he had due. The woman introduced herself before calling for Will and stepping away from the door. Will came and leaned on the door frame, "How was his game?" He asked completely ignoring that some random girl answered the door. I tried to shake it off "We've got some athlete. He scored the winning goal." I answered. Will nodded "Well, thanks for brining him back. Sorry I couldn't pick him up. I was, uh—" He cleared his throat "I was busy." I nodded "I can see that." He lingered in an awkward silence before I spoke up again "Well, have a good night."

Not long after I made it back inside my car, I heard my phone ping. Stopping the car in the driveway I looked down at the text message "Come over?"-Em I was a little confused thinking Candice's flight must have landed by now but tried to push my worries to the back of my mind "I'll be there in 20, need anything?" I sent back "Bring wine?"-Em Oh this couldn't be good.
