"You're going the wrong way?" JJ questioned from the passenger seat of my car "No, I'm pretty sure this is right." I flashed JJ a sly smile waiting for her to realize where I was going. "You did not!" She yelled excitedly as we pulled onto a private airstrip "When I say were getting away, I mean it. Don't I henry?" I turned to Henry, who was excitedly nodding in the back seat. "You knew about this?" She teased in her mom voice "Come on I had to let the little man in on the plan!" Putting the car in park I was greeted by two members of the small airstrips staff, handing one of them the keys to my car while the other went around to the trunk to grab our bags "Thank you." I said handing them each a tip. "Alright guys lets get going" JJ held Henrys hand as I lead them to the plane. It was a smaller jet than the one we used at the BAU, but it was still impressive nonetheless. We settled in while the pilots readied for takeoff, JJ making herself comfortable in the seat beside me while Henry took the once facing across from us. I watched as he played around with the switch I had bought him, enjoying a game of either Mario cart or Minecraft, I couldn't be to sure. JJ leaned over to me "Please tell me you don't own this...?" She asked shyly "Oh no!" I let out in laughter "It's a friends, he offered it to me when I told him of our plans for Christmas." JJ relaxed a little at my explanation, leading back in her seat getting comfortable "Well, remind me to send him a thankyou card." "Excuse me ladies, I'm Jason and I'll be your pilot today." Said a older man with smooth voice "We'll be taking off soon. It's a short flight, but feel free to move around the cabin when this light is green." We listened as he gave the general rundown of the plane and before I knew it we we're in the air.

A driver was waiting for us when we landed, after loading up the luggage we were driven to our destination. Pulling into the long driveway I was overcome with emotions seeing the aging house, it was taken care of but I made a point to have it left in as much as the same condition as it was when my father passed. The blue paint had begun to fade and chip away in a few places, the porch décor was outdated and worn, but it was still as beautiful as I remembered it. Henry was the first out the car, bursting into the yard with all the energy he pent up during the ride. It was warmer here than in Virginia, but it was still December and the evening air was crisp against my skin. Pulling the luggage out of the car I once again thanked the driver and moved into the house as he left. The house was dark when I walked in, trying to remember where the lights were was a bit of a struggle but once I finally found the correct switches I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything had been set up like I requested. Walking in you stood in a small entryway, looking to your right was the kitchen and dining room, in front of you was the main living room with a small staircase to the left that lead up to the rest of the house. I watched as both Henry and JJ's eyes lit up walking inside. There was a Christmas tree tucked in the corner of the living room, almost too tall, the star on top brushing against the ceiling. I was happy to see the presents I sent earlier had already been placed below. The sight of the old beach house dressed up for Christmas once again brought back memories of my father, the decorations scattered around being pulled straight out of storage. The stockings hung on the wall were a little outdated, and the bulbs on the Christmas lights were dimming from years of neglect, but it was breathtaking none the less.

"Emily, this is to much." I watched as JJ walked around taking in the sight of the house. I shrugged awkwardly, a little worried I was overwhelming her "It's our first Christmas together and I wanted to make it memorable and—" My sentence was cut short as the blonde pulled me in for a kiss. She placed her hands on either side of my face as she pulled away "It's perfect. Thank you." I felt my cheeks warming, overjoyed to see the smile this was putting on JJ's face. "Em! There's presents!" Henry yelled excitedly rushing into the living room "Yes, but those are for Christmas silly boy." JJ said in a motherly tone, I watched as Henry's face turned into a small pout "Hey, how about you go find your room and get changed into something warmer! We can go walk down by the beach after dinner and see if we can find any shells." I suggested trying to pull his attention away from the gifts "Okay!" He answered, the coming enthusiasm back to his voice.
