All night Miley seemed to toss and turn unable to sleep feeling guilty about the party. Jasper and her were supposed to watch a western, and now he wasn't returning her texts. Thinking he was just upset she tried texting Alice to tell him to message her back but..... again she received nothing. It would have made her leave anyone else alone but they didn't sleep, so what could possibly be stopping them? She shook it off however and somehow fell asleep.
Bella seemed normal so Miley thought things were still good with the Cullens and shrugged it off. She'd confront them at school if anything, but for now she texted her friends since Zach wanted to pick her up today. She had even texted Justin..... again. She texted him every day begging him to come home, hell she'd leave voice mails for him. She was worried deep down for some reason, she could only explain it as their weird connection telling her something was wrong. She began thinking of places he could be when Zach honked his horn.
She had been in such a daze she hadn't seen him pull in, but he saw that look on her face and it made him sigh. "What's been going on Miley?" He asked as she hopped in and he sped off towards Alex house. "I'm just getting a bad feeling about Justin." She mumbled truthfully making him nod and think. "Last I heard he bought vodka off Bryce and was taking off to Port Angela's for a train or something." Zach said trying to be helpful which it was in beginning her hunt. "I guess I'll start there. So what about you? Baseball practice kicking your butt yet." Miley smirked as he chuckled shaking his head. "Coach has been more lenient with me then some of the others. It just sucks without Jeff there to keep Bryce and Monty under control." He said tensing up realizing who he was talking to.
"I'm sorry I didn't-" he began to apologize but she waved him off. "These past few months has been..... I still miss him. But I just- I'm trying to move on, I know it's what he would have wanted it's just hard." She finally said with a far off look as he nodded. It gave him a piece of hope, he had always had a thing for Miley Swan since Elementary. Before the car ride could get more hectic they pulled into Alex's driveway where his dad waved as he was just leaving in his cruiser that looked like my dads. "Alex hop in!" I yell excitedly as he looks at me with a sarcastic smile.
Alex finally climbs into the backseat and they began the drive to Jessica's which was right by the school. The car ride was filled with random conversation but avoided the court talk. Miley had been summoned to talk just like them, she didn't know what she'd say but she didn't have to worry for awhile. "Jesssssss." Miley said holding the s as she climbed in and laughed at her weird voice. "Mileyyyyyy you seem happy." She commented but really I was trying to be back to my old self. But also thinking about the Cullens, and...... Paul. He had been in my dreams, thoughts, and just seemed to relate to any topic she spoke of.
The rest of the ride was peaceful silence, as they parked Miley's eyes wandered to the Cullens usual parking spots. The spots were empty. And Bella had driven herself to school for once. Miley began to get a queasy feeling deep down she knew what was happening, but like most things she shrugged it off. Today just wasn't the right day to admit or think of serious things.
