- RELINQUISH

Anala's pov

I was starstruck.

The baby that I once held in my arms, the same baby that I thought I'd lost was standing before me, all grown up in front of my eyes.

And she looked twice as surprised as me.

Her eyes glassier than ever as she pulled my body into her, hugging me like her life depended on it. "I'ts okay sweetheart, I'm okay." I mumbled against her hair, neither of us seemed to care what the situation was.

Neither of us cared that for him to do something like this only means he's expecting something in return.

But he reconnected me with my daughter, and that's all that mattered to me.

For months I thought that I'd stay locked up in that tiny cellar forever. The memory of my husband tormented me every night.

He was vile. As vile as one could possibly be.

Letting the death eaters save me was no mistake, if they saved him it would've been much worse for Sana, but much better for Voldemort.

So I left him to die.

And yes, the sight of his bones drying, his life pouring out of his body haunted me for what felt like eternity. But I was not ashamed of what I did.

Because everything I did, I did for her.

I swore on my life I'd protect her at all costs because I know Isabelle was as bad as her father.

But I wouldn't tell her that, I wouldn't ruin her limited seconds of relief and pure bliss.

"It's really you." She whispered in between sobs.

My could would stop right there.

It was the surprise that got me, the look in her eyes that told me she thought she was dreaming. She thought I wasn't real.

"Heartwarming." Snape grimaced.

My daughter scoffed ; a flicker of proudness glimmered in my eyes.

"Enough!" The snake-like man yelled. "Leave. You have five months, or I'll kill him myself, and  I'll take no pity in doing so."

She gulped, taking my hand softly and dragging me out of the house.

I took in the cold breeze like it was a drug, purely intoxicating. I haven't stepped a foot outside the manor since the day they 'saved' me. I'd much rather use the word imprisoned me, it wasn't much of a heroic move.

But suddenly we were spinning, it all happened so quickly. In less than a blink we were back on the ground.

Sana's pov:

I held my mother's hand steadily as she collapsed onto my side once we landed. I laughed, letting her hold my arm for support.

"Is this where you live?" She asked ; referring to Sirius' house. I chuckled, shaking my head in amusement. "No, but a very good friend does. I'm staying here for the weekend, but I'll be back at Hogwarts on Monday."

"Oh dear, is there a boy I must know about?"

"Perhaps you must." I paused.

I barely had any time to think about what I will say to Remus. I hadn't even thought of that at all.

He was probably worried sick, I did just leave him there.

Anything I told him would devastate him. And the least I want to do is hurt him. I couldn't handle it.
