- THE END
Sana's pov:
Once we were two lovers. Both scared of getting caught, terrified of the consequences, yet intrigued by the experience.
But now our fear blooms from different roots. Roots that lead to darkness, obscurity.
I no longer sneak into his room in disquietude. I no longer dread the day Dumbledore walks in on us.
All of these worries are gone. We have been welcomed with much more improved fears.
Those that we cannot yet escape.
Three months have passed since we have heard of Harry and his friends.
The ministry is insane.
Death Eaters roam the city's every corner. It is no longer safe for us to have our windows open.
Every sight of Harry, Ron, and Hermione was considered valuable information that needed to be reported instantly.
There is no more peace. No more chances, no more breaks, no more freedom.
It is chaos. The world seems to be falling down on top of all of us.
May does not feel like may.
It is not a season of flowers and new life. There is nothing but day-long rain showers.
We are all crumbling, and today seems like the day we finally fall. Something about the air is different.
It feels colder. Caliginous, even.
Still, I am blessed to have found warmth in Remus' smile. Though not the most genuine smile, it sure feels like home.
"I have a bad feeling about today." He says nonchalantly, running his warm fingers down my arm.
Shivers run down my spine. It is one thing for me to think today is different, but for others, then it just concludes my thoughts.
"I thought it was just me."
He shakes his head, eyeballs Sirius. "Padfoot thinks so too. We're keeping an eye out for secret messages and opening up secret passages along the house."
I look at him, a hint of confusion in my face. "Secret passages?"
"That's how the order has been communicating. Especially around Hogwarts."
Just to think that the childhood home of so many has become a dangerous place even within its walls does not sit right with me.
I wish this would all be fixed sooner. Living like this is a sacrifice I am not willing to make for much longer.
"You are my life, you know?" I say quietly, afraid that if I speak up he might disappear.
Remus kisses my head softly. His touch undoes the ribbon that held my heart in place.
"I know, darling. I know."
"And I am ready."
He turns my body so I am now straddling, my arms linger on his chest.
His sweet amber eyes focused too deeply on mine. I am afraid that I might just pulverise.
"You're ready?" He repeats.
"Yes." I reply confidently. "I am ready to fight for you, for us, really."
He smiles, softens at my steadiness. "You've always been a fighter; I do not doubt it."
