Chapter 15

"Well that escaled quickly." You say to Teresa, irritated.

"Yeah. I already feel like I've been here for years." She says. That makes you even more annoyed. Well this just ruins everything. You were actually excited about her being here.

"So, you seem to be close to Gally. It's cute. Like your brother and sister." She keeps talking. You clench your fist tightly and bite your lip. Instead of freaking out, you nod.

"Well? You got any ideas?" She asks.

"What do you mean?" You pretend not to be following on the topic.

"How to I get Gally to like me?! I just need him. His arms are so hot and he's so muscular and-"

"Um, I don't think he wants a girlfriend." You interrupt.

"Yeah right!" She laughs. "He's gonna get one anyway."

"Look, I just saw the first girl that wasn't me in a long time. I don't want a guy to ruin what could be a great friendship." You try to reason.

"Why do you even care, anyway?" She demands.

"Uh... No reason. I'm just looking out for you..." You say.

"What do you mean, looking out for me? Is he a player or something?" She asks.

"I don't really see how that's possible since there are two girls in the glade." You mutter.

"Well? Tell me! What's so bad about him?!" Teresa blocks the door.

Your heart is pounding. What do you tell her?

"Uh... He... Might be working for WICKED! And he told me that he thinks he's gay!" Where in the shucking earth did that come from?! Who even says that?! You ask yourself.

"Woah." She looks surprised. "That explains why he wasn't nervous around me. I'm gonna ask him what WICKED is like. Then after I'm gonna see if we have sparks. Maybe after I kiss him he'll see that he likes both genders or something. Well... Thanks for the advice!" She skips away.

Why did you tell her that?! Oh gosh, everything is gonna be so messed up now! You think.

You don't see Teresa or Gally until the next day at lunch. You sit with the usual. Newt, Thomas, Minho, and Chuck. Gally usually doesn't sit with you but he usually stops by to talk for a bit. Today he sits alone with Teresa.

"Wait... You really told Teresa that Gally is gay?" Minho asks, confused.

"I didn't know what to say!" You defend yourself.

"Well, I'm gonna go get some popcorn, cause this is gonna get good." Newt jokes.

"Yeah. Girl fight!" Thomas pretends to file his nail.

"This is funny." Chuck comments.

"Yep. Real funny." You feel sick. Gally and Teresa leave their table and you're pretty sure they're going somewhere private.

You slam your head on the table and complain to the other gladers. "What have I gotten myself into?!"

"I don't know, but the glare could use some drama. Keep our minds off them ugly shank grievers out there." Minho says.

After finishing your lunch, you hear a girl, who is obviously Teresa, shouting, "liar!" Uh oh.

Gally and Teresa run up to you.

"Who told you a was working for WICKED and that I was gay?!" Gally shouts.

"Did you lie to me?!" Teresa stomps.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" Gally shrieks.

All the voices shoot you all at once.

Overwhelmed, you try to clear things up. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. It's just that Teresa told me she wants to get you to like her, and I didn't want her to hate me for being your girlfriend because I really need a friend whose a girl right now. So I told her those things so she wouldn't hit on you." You sigh.

"You could've told me that. I would've understood." Teresa says sheepishly.

"I'm really sorry guys. Can we all just be friends?" You ask hopefully.

They both nod and you three have a group hug. Except Gally holds you tighter since you're dating after all.

A couple hours later you get some water and bring it to Gally to surprise him.

But Teresa's with him. You hide outside, able to hear and see everything. Except the scratchy leaves constantly nag at your legs.

Teresa says, "Well. I think it worked. Now that you two are no longer dating and we're all friends, we can be together. But we don't have to tell her." Guess you're the one being surprised tonight.

Gally doesn't respond. He looks surprised. Before he has a chance to answer, Teresa pushes him onto the bed and starts to kiss him, and it's so gross you have to cover your mouth to prevent a barf. This is really some PG -13 stuff. Suddenly you can't tell if you're angry or sad. Part of you only sees that old tortured woman version of Teresa and the memory of her getting crushed makes you smile.

But the other part of you is heart broken and feels like crying. Your eyes get watery.

Tbh I didn't like Teresa in the scorch trials... Idk why but I guess that's why she's gonna be awful, just for a little while.
