Two horrible weeks of being in a hospital bed. Two weeks of being fed horrible hospital food. Two weeks of being drugged up so that you don't feel the pain your body is still experiencing. And the worst part is that you have to stay here for God knows how long.
Laying on your ass in a hospital bed not being able to do anything without help is so annoying. The team has been really nice. Maybe a little too nice for your liking but they are just trying to be there for you without hurting you. The person who is being way more careful with you and somewhat clingy is Spencer. And you hate yourself for not being upset about it.
It comforts you to have him close for some reason. But it's so nice to have him with you. When the team's here he gives you a little more space but when it's just the two of you he gets as close as he can without hurting you.
He'll read to you, watch shows and movies with you, help you eat, tell you random facts, and overall, just make it so much better to be in that stupid hospital. He makes sure you're comfortable and if you're in any pain he calls for a nurse to give you your meds or tries to distract you from the pain.
And when he was away on a case like now, he would call you anytime he was free.
"Are you sure you're feeling okay Y/N? If you're uncomfortable you can ask the nurse to give you your medicine early. It's only five minutes until you get them so she should be okay with giving them to you a little early." he said worriedly.
"I'm fine, Spencer, promise. Also, if I rely on the meds too much, I'll never be able to function without them and I don't want that. I want to be able to walk around without having to pop a pill in my mouth because I'm a little uncomfortable."
"I know it's not good to rely on meds Y/N, but you have very severe wounds. I just want to make sure you're not in pain all the time. They're lowering your doses little by little so your body won't have to rely on them. I promise that in a couple of months you'll be fine but for now just be very careful."
"I am being careful. You should go now though; from the sound of your voice your mind is somewhere else. Penny called me a little before you and said it's a pretty bad case. You can call me later today but right now the team needs you."
"Are you sure you're, okay? Like 100 percent sure?" He sounded distracted. But from what you were told you didn't blame him.
"I'm sure Spencer. Now, go solve the case. I'll be fine on my own for a while. I've been doing it for two weeks." you say with a soft smile.
"Okay. Talk to you later." with that he hung up.
Then, there was that stupid aching in your chest. Not from a wound or anything it was because you weren't talking to him anymore. There is no way that in two weeks you've developed feelings for him. No. You wouldn't let that be the case. He was still the asshole he always was, the only reason he was being nice is because you're injured.
You are not falling for Spencer Reid.

1 Month Later:
"How are you feeling today?" Spencer asks from across the kitchen.
"I'm okay. My arms are a little sore but that's probably from carrying boxes yesterday." you respond, taking a bite of your food.
"I told you not to carry so much stuff," he says, making his way towards you, "Take off your sweater so I can look at your scars. I need to make sure they're all still closed."
You take off your sweater and let him look at your arms. A couple of weeks ago you would have said that there was no way that Spencer could get nicer, but boy were you wrong. Not only was he there for you in the hospital but now he helped you move apartments, when there isn't a case he's right by your side, he buys you flowers, takes you out to eat, and is just there.
