"Tum toh sirf meri thi,
Phir aaj kyun tum pe haq kisi aur ka hai.
Tum hi kehti thi,
Main tumhari Khushi hun.
Phir kyun tumhare honton pe naam kisi aur ka hai."
He sits down on the road, leaning on to his car, under the pouring rain. He has a bottle of alcohol in his hand that he had picked up on the way. He puts it to his mouth and gulps down the liquid.
I know I am behaving rather childishly but I just can't help. I feel betrayed by you Mumma. You baked those cookies only for me. It was our special time. You and me together in the kitchen, baking and listening to old Bollywood songs. And you shared that with him. You made it for your husband and maybe for your new son..Son??
The thought of someone else calling her mother, makes him angrier. Why did she leave him and start a new family? He slams his hand on the body of the car out of frustration.
"Mumma, see I have put the nuts on the cookies. Now you can put it in the oven. Uff kitna kaam kar wati ho tum?", Sidharth says, acting to wipe off the sweat beads from his forehead with his fingers.
Richa holds his ear,"Acha? I made you work? About a few grams of nuts, one whole chocolate and a few muffins. You have been munching all these while I was preparing everything and you say, I have been making you work? "
"Ah..Mumma..sorry.. It is hurting now..sorry..", he screams.
Richa smiles and leaves him,"Dramebaaz. Come here."
She pulls him closer and kisses his cheek, "Did I pull your ear too hard? Did I hurt you?"
He wraps his arms around her and kisses her back on her cheek, "No Mumma. You can never hurt me. Never."
His belief shattered that very year when she left. She took off and he was left behind to carry his father's so-called legacy. That wasn't enough, she married a guy a few years later, living a happy life, without him.
He understands she deserved happiness but didn't he deserve a normal life too? How could she forget about him? How?
He had avoided her all these years. But seeing her today with him, broke him down to the core again.
Sidharth returns home drenched in rain and moves straight to his room. He prayed to his angels to not to make him face Shehnaaz. He wants to avoid her tonight. And he would make sure not to drink too much. He has already created a lot of trouble for himself because of that. But he has to drink, he has to keep remembering everything.
Sidharth changes and comes out to a brightly lit bedroom.
"What the f*** is it going on here? Who put on these lights? Mary! Sarita!.", he screams.
Sarita comes up at the door and says,"Martha is in the kitchen. What happened?"
Sidharth picks up a vase and smashes it on the floor,"What do you think is going on here? Who has the guts to change anything in my room?"
Sarita starts to fumble, "Actually..I mean.."
"I had the guts to do it. Sarita, you may go now.", Sana says with a smile as she enters the room with a tray.
"Today people came to put on a new wiring and change the flooring as well as colour the wall. Remember last night, you had tried to burn the house. So I asked them to change the lights. It looks so nice now. Pehle itna andhera hota tha. Thik se kuch dikhai nahi deta tha. And you used to keep the lights off as well.", she blabbers as she puts the tray on the table and picks up the mug from it.
She brings the mug to him and says,"I have made tea for you, your favourite ginger tea. You returned drenched in rain, and with this you will feel good. "
Sidharth takes the mug from her hand and smiles,"You are loving it, isn't it? What is with this humour of yours, rather your sarcasm? Is this your sweet revenge?"
He looks into her eyes,"Shehnaaz, you always forget who you are dealing with. Don't you?"
He pours the tea on the floor and throws the mug right at the light. It bursts with sparks and it goes dark. Sana screams,"Ammaaa.."
