Chapter 51

Sidharth tries to sleep, burying his face near her bosom, holding Shehnaaz close. The pain has subsided long back but the feeling of uneasiness continues. It had not left him from the time he had been kept away from the drug. It's the way his body is craving to have the drugs, Horizon.
He has endured pain quite successfully all his life. He is quite strong, all thanks to his Dad. But this feeling is shattering his mind. He is putting on a brave face but from inside he is getting weak with each passing moment. He knows what he wants right now. He wants to have the drug once so that this consistent pain will stop for sometime. That's what withdrawal symptoms feel like. A war goes on between the brain and body and he is losing it.
He shivers thinking what will he do if he finds Horizon. Will he take it or turn his face away?

Mere mustaqbil* mein kya hai
Soch aaj ghabrau main.
Aaj kyun khudko itna
Ekela aaj paun main.

Zindagi mein mushibaton ki kami na thi kabhi.
Gira hun Kai baar, Par hara nahi kabhi.

Phir kyun aaj darr raha hun main.
Kis nakami ke bare mein soch raha hun main.
Tujh pe hi ek bharosa hai mujhe.
Iss Kashmakash se bas bacha le mujhe.

He stares at her face and kisses her shoulder.
Please stay with me. Save me from this. He thinks.

He closes his eyes shut, trying to get all the bad thoughts out of his mind.
"Shh..."
Shehnaaz says, putting his palm over his mouth.
Sidharth opens his eyes to look at her. Her eyes are shut but she whispers,
"Stop talking. Sleep."
"When did I talk?"
Sana opens her eyes, " You are talking so loudly, the world can hear you."
"I am hallucinating again. Isn't it?"
"No. You are not. You are thinking aloud. Kya soch rahe ho tum? You are worried about something bad will happen. Don't worry. Sab thik hoga. Come here. I'll make you sleep."

She pulls him closer and starts running her fingers through his hair. She makes tiny circles around his temples with her thumb. Slowly the tired body gives up and sleep comes over him.

A sound wakes him up. His phone is ringing. He turns around to pick it up from the side table.
"Kaisa hai Sidharth Raichand?"
"Who.. is this?"
"It's me man, Da Rosa, Binny Da Rosa. Your friend."
"Binny, why are you calling me? We will meet soon and then we shall talk, like friends."
Binny starts to laugh,
"Of course, we will meet. You have to."

"Hansle tu jitna chahe, I am going to make sure you will not be able to show any emotions for the rest of your life."
"Sidharth Raichand, apan tera fan ban gaya hai. What dialogues do you give! Now listen to me, we both need each other and I have called to give you a good deal."
"You are offering Sidharth Raichand a deal? Go to hell!"
Sidharth is about to cut the call when he hears,
"Horizon, it's about Horizon. Listen to me Sidharth Raichand!"
Sidharth's hand trembles and he puts the phone back to his ear.

"I know you are listening. Man, I have Horizon. A huge quantity of it. And I want to bring it in your territory. Ah.. I know you don't want drugs in the streets of Mumbai. I will not sell them. But I need to make money and for that I need to send it other places through the docks."
Sidharth stays silent.
"You are quiet, that means you have kept an open mind. Good. Coming back to the deal. You have control over the ports. I want you to allow my consignment to pass through the port and in return I will give you Horizon."
"What made you think I will make a deal with you?"

Binny laughs.
"Horizon naam kyun rakha malum man? Horizon matlab, the line where sky and earth meet. It moves along with you. It actually shows you what you need to see. Once you take Horizon, it is with you all the time, showing you what you really want to see, things that you are avoiding."
"You called to give me philosophical lectures on Horizon."
"No man. I called you to show sympathy. Withdrawal symptoms are painful. Too painful. Take one pill and you will be fine. Yes. No more injections for you. Pills won't make you drowsy. It will take you to another level. Trust me. So, deal paki?"
