Bonding With Stefan

~Stefan~
Everyone else is asleep but I just can't seem to fall asleep. When I hear Maya crying downstairs. So, I get up out of bed and head downstairs. But, when she hears me, she goes silent. Can't blame her, I wouldn't wanna cry in front of someone I didn't know either.

"Maya? I heard you crying upstairs, I know you aren't asleep" She remains quiet and just as I'm about to head back upstairs to give her privacy, she cries again. "Why did he do this to me?" My eyebrows raised for a few seconds and I scoffed. "I don't know, I wish I could answer that" I say walking over and sitting on the coffee table, facing her.

"I know I shouldn't be, but I'm so ashamed about what happened" "You had no control over what happened" "If I would've done what he wanted, if I would've just been a good girlfriend and made him happy like I should've, this wouldn't have happened" "Maybe you're right, maybe it wouldn't have happened tonight but it would have happened another night, and who knows it could've been worse than it was this time, so much so that you couldn't have gotten away"

~Maya~
I cried harder thinking of Elena, Jeremy and Aunt Jenna being notified that I was dead. Elena wouldn't know what to do with herself.

"Elena wouldn't know what to do with herself" "Exactly, I know its painful now, but its gonna get better" "Stefan?" "Yeah?" "Will you stay with me?" I could tell he was a little taken aback by my question, but he smiled and said, "Of course" He laid on the floor next to couch.

"Goodnight, Stefan" "Goodnight, Maya"

~The next morning~

Stefan~
I woke up lying on the floor, Maya was sleeping peacefully on the couch. Her arm draped off the side of it, drool coming out the side of her mouth. Chuckling I get up and go back to my room.

"So someone had a pleasant night" "What?" "You slept down there" "So?" "You do realize she just got out of an abusive relationship right?" "Damon, nothing happened between us last night ask her yourself" "Ok, brother" "Don't believe me I don't care, I just heard her crying, I was awake, we talked, she asked me to stay down there with her, so I did... That's it nothing else"

I finished my argument and walked off. Typical Damon, always thinking something happened. I'm not him, I don't do that kind of thing. I will admit she is pretty though. Her blonde hair, makes her blue eyes stick out; her smile making her dimples show. She's quite adorable actually.

"What are you thinking about?" "How did you sleep?" "Um, good, she still asleep?" "Yeah, I think so" "K, I'll just hang out until she wakes up" "Elena you should go to school, Damon and I are gonna be here" "If I have to go you do too" "I've been to school for centuries" "Doesn't matter, I go, you go" "Fine" "Are you sure?" "Yes, Damon will make sure we know if anything happens or when she wakes up" "Fine, fine" "Ok, lets go"

~Maya~
I was startled awake by the door closing. I woke with a gasp as I look around. "It was just Elena and Stefan" "Where'd... Where'd they go?" "To school" "I gotta, I gotta go, too" I said, struggling to get myself up.

"Huh, no" "Yes, help me up, I need to go to school" "You can't go to school right now your not in good shape, now lay back down" "No, I have stuff to do!" He looks into my eyes and says, "Your not going to school today, lay down and be cooperative"

For some reason, I stopped fighting and just relaxed, not bothering to do anything. That's strange considering that I was just fighting to go.

They got back not long after that and I'm still hung up on what happened. "Hey, how ya feeling?" "I'm fine" "You ok, Maya?" Stefan asked. "Mhm" "Your lying, what's wrong?" Elena asked. "Nothing" "Fine do you know where Damon is?" "No" I Said, my voice shaky.

"I'll go look for him, Stefan...-" "Yeah" She had said something but I don't know what it was. "He messed with my mind or something" "What?" "Damon, he he... One minute I was trying to get up and go to school with you guys the next I was laying down, relaxing, not even bothering to do anything... And he had said something to me but I can't for the life of me remember what it was... It's like my mind was messed with" I finished with my on my head.

"Compulsion" I heard him whisper really quietly. "What? What's compulsion?" He looked surprised that I heard that. "Um, nothing" "Stefan, tell me... Please?" I begged, grabbing his hand.

~Stefan~
"Stefan, tell me... Please?" She begged, grabbing my hand. Tears were in her eyes and I could how scared she was. But, I couldn't reveal what we were, could I?
